Couple charged with theft at JS Weis
JERSEY SHORE -- Lupita Perry and her boyfriend Brandon Kibler, both of Williamsport, have been charged with theft, receiving stolen property, access device fraud and criminal mischief after Perry allegedly stole a wallet from the restroom at the Weis Market in Jersey Shore on Sept. 6.
Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police report the victim reported to police that her wallet had been stolen from her pocketbook when she accidentally left the pocketbook in the restroom while changing her child's clothing.
The store's video showed Perry leaving the restroom with a wallet under her arm shortly after the victim and the child left the restroom, police said.
When police arrived at the store, they saw the man and woman, now wearing different clothing, in the parking lot and approached them. Police showed the couple a photo of the video showing Perry securing the wallet under her arm, police said.
Perry, 41, admitted she found the wallet and said they were going to return it. Kibler, 37, told police they were going to take it to the address listed on the woman's driver's license in her wallet.
Both Perry and Kibler told police they had not removed anything from the wallet. However, as officers were talking to them, the victim notified police that someone had used one of her credit cards at Arby's, just about eight blocks away, police said. The couple then admitted using the credit card at Arby's, police said.
JS man charged with drug possession
JERSEY SHORE -- Andrew Huntington, 32, of 1320 Walnut St., Jersey Shore, faces multiple counts of drug possession with intent to deliver controlled substances and possess of drug paraphernalia, after state police at Montoursville found him in possession of an assortment of illegal drugs in his 2007 Subaru Legacy during a traffic stop.
Police said Huntington was stopped on Route 15, south of Williamsport, on March 18, and discovered the drugs which included three bags of LSD, 20 ecstasy pills, two bags of marijuana and other narcotics.
Huntington, who was also driving without a license, was committed to the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bail.
JS woman fails to appear for hearing
JERSEY SHORE -- Desiree McKeag, 28, of 512 McKeag Lane, Jersey Shore, ended up behind bars Wednesday afternoon after she failed to appear for a hearing before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on theft charges filed on May 21.
On Wednesday, she failed to appear before Lepley on charges of theft and stolen property in connection with the alleged theft of $11,000 worth of jewelry from the Limestone Township residence of her mother-in-law, Sherry Buttorff on May 21. She had been free on bail on those charges.
When she did not appear for that hearing, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest. She was picked up at her home by state police and taken to the Lycoming County jail.
McKeag has also been charged with driving under the influence of controlled substances and criminal mischief on July 4. She was sent a summons to appear before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on those charges.
LH driver suspected of DUI
JERSEY SHORE -- Miriam Reeder, 39, of Lock Haven, is suspected of driving under the influence after she was pulled over traveling 102 miles per hour on Route 220 at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 7, according to Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police.
Police said she refused to provide a blood sample and has been charged with DUI, reckless driving, careless driving and speeding. She was sent a summons to appear before a district judge.
Domestic incident
BELLEFONTE -- A domestic incident was investigated by state police at Rockview.
The incident took place around 7 a.m. on Sept. 27 along Dry Top Road in Boggs Township, Centre County. Details about the incident were not reported by police.
Drug possession
HOWARD -- A case of drug possession was investigated by state police at Rockview on Sept. 28.
According to police, they were dispatched to Walnut Street in Howard Borough to serve a mental health evaluation. While there, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were discovered. Charges are pending against a 35-year-old Howard man and a 27-year-old Howard female with magisterial district justice 49-3-02.
Three-vehicle crash
BELLEFONTE -- A three-vehicle crash was investigated by state police at Rockview around 5:24 p.m. on Sept. 29.
According to police, a 2008 Kia Sportage being driven by a 17-year-old Bellefonte male was traveling north on state Route 150 when it failed to stop for a 2014 BMW X3 being driven by Tyler Rayno, 36, of Bellefonte. Rayno was attempting to make a turn on the Benner Pike. The force of the crash pushed the BMW X3 into a 2016 BMW X3 being driven by Bernard Rayno, 53, also of Bellefonte.
Police were assisted at the scene by Gray's Towing. The 17-year-old was charged with driving his vehicle at an unsafe speed through magisterial district court 49-3-02.
Shoplifting
MILL HALL -- A case of retail theft is being investigated by state police at Lamar.
According to police, Justin Anan, 24, of Lock Haven took several items from the Walmart in Mill Hall and attempted to leave the store without paying around 7 p.m. on Oct. 3.
Police say that Anan took the following items: George boxer underwear ($9.47), fish oil ($6.88), Woodwick scented candle ($14.88), Styler brand beard trimmer and razor ($21.84) and 1.5 ounce container of KY Ultragel ($6.54).
A loss prevention specialist detained Anan until police arrived. Charges were filed through district court 25-3-02.
Animal cruelty
FLEMING -- A case of cruelty to animals was investigated by state police at Rockview.
According to police, a cat was found with a crossbow bolt with red and white vanes stuck in its head. The incident took place around 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 2 along Allegheny Street in Unionville Borough, Centre County.
The cat, which is owned by a 66-year-old Fleming woman, was treated at Metzger's Animal Hospital. It did survive the attack. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact state police at Rockview.
Man charged with
trespassing
LOCK HAVEN -- State police at Lamar are investigating a case of simple trespassing that took place in Castanea Township, Clinton County on Sept. 28.
According to police, at 7:27 a.m., Shawn McLaughlin, 22, of Mill Hall entered a private residence along Nittany Road while under the influence of a controlled substance. The resident, a 39-year-old female, chased McLaughlin out of the residence and then contacted police. State troopers located McLaughlin walking along Jarrett Avenue where he was taken into custody and transported to the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
He was jailed in lieu of $35,000 bail.
Two-vehicle crash
SNOW SHOE -- A two-vehicle accident was investigated by state police at Rockview a little after 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 along Interstate 80 East.
According to police, a 2020 Ram 3500 being driven by Davit Dudauri, 58, of Belleville was attempting to pass a 2008 Ford Edge being driven by Gianna Davidson, 21, of Shickshinny. Dudauri failed to clear the vehicle before passing and his truck struck the Ford Edge. The Edge was forced off the roadway.
Dudauri was cited for his role in the crash.
