Two-vehicle crash

JERSEY SHORE — State police at Lamar investigated a one-vehicle crash that took place at 7:24 a.m. on Jan. 16.

According to police, a 2018 Ford Escape being driven by Joyce Spring, 56, of Loganton was traveling North on state Route 880. She was slowing down for traffic control and slid across the travel lanes when she applied the brakes. The Escape crashed into a 1999 Ford Explorer being driven by Amelia Smith, 19, of Loganton.

There were no injuries in the crash, police said.

One-vehicle crash

MILL HALL — A one-vehicle crash was investigated by state police at Lamar on Jan. 16.

According to police, a 2007 Chevrolet Impala being driven by John Mayes, 39, of Lock Haven was exiting state Route 220 onto Mill Hall Road. As Mayes was traveling across a bridge, he lost control of the vehicle due to black ice.

The Impala struck a guide rail before coming to rest. The crash took place around 8 a.m., police said.

Tractor trailers collide

LAMAR — Two tractor trailers collided around 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 15 in the parking lot of the Flying J in Porter Township, Clinton County.

According to police, a 2020 Kenworth Northwest T-680 collided with a 2016 International Harvester Pro Star. Police did not release the names of those involved.

I-80 crash

JERSEY SHORE — A two-vehicle accident was investigated by state police at Lamar on Jan. 18.

According to police, a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Ebet Lucho, 27, of Smithburg was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 near milemarker 193 when he failed to notice a vehicle in front of him and struck the rear of a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan being driven by Ricardo Evangelista, 78, of Milton.

No injuries were reported in the crash. Both vehicles sustained damage in the mishap.

Inmate death

STATE COLLEGE — State police at Rockview investigated a death around 1:20 p.m. on Jan. 7.

According to police, an inmate at SCI-Benner died at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Upon investigation, it was determined that the inmate died of natural causes.

Driving under the influence

SPRING MILLS — A case of driving under the influence was investigated by state police at Rockview on Jan. 9.

According to police, a 23-year-old Millheim man was pulled over in his 2018 Chevrolet Cruze for summary traffic violations. The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

The man was pulled over at the intersection of Penns Valley Road and South Street at 12:56 a.m.

Harassment

PLEASANT GAP — A case of harassment was investigated by state police at Rockview on Jan. 18.

Police say that a domestic incident at Gwenedd Court in Spring Township, Centre County turned physical. The incident took place between a 57-year-old female and a 58-year-old male, both of Pleasant Gap.

The two were taken into custody for harassment.

DUI alleged

SNOW SHOE — A case of driving under the influence was investigated by state police at Rockview on Jan. 17.

According to police, a 40-year-old Clarence man was pulled over in his 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck around 1:37 a.m. at the intersection of Gorton Road and Quick Lane in Snow Shoe Township, Centre County.

Inmate suicide

BENNER TOWNSHIP — State police at Rockview investigated the death on an inmate at SCI-Benner on Jan. 5.

According to police, the inmate committed suicide a little after 2 a.m., at SCI-Benner on Institution Drive in Benner Township, Centre County.
