Howard man

accused of DUI

HOWARD — William Cain, 49, of Howard is accused of driving under the influence after he was stopped by state police at Rockview on Feb. 14 at 7:06.

The traffic stop was made on Nitttany Valley Drive at Stone House Road in Porter Township.

Police said Cain was observed operating a Ford F-150 without head or tail lights, and was observed to be under the influence of alcohol.

Charges are pending toxicology results, police said.

DUI alleged

BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview stopped what they called and “erratic” driver on Interstate 80 westbound in Boggs Twp., Centre County, and discovered he was allegedly driving under the influence.

Police said Nicholas Lepore, 55, of Metuchen, N.J. was taken to Mt. Nittany Hospital for a blood draw and charged for DUI are pending toxicology tests.

The stop was made at 1:01 p.m. on Jan. 27, in the area of milemarker 141.

Juveniles fighting

BELLEFONTE — Two 17-year-old boys from Pleasant Gap have been charged with harassment following a fight between the two, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said they responded to a disturbance on Zion Back Road in Walker Township at 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 14, and found the two male juveniles engaged in fighting with one another.

Both were cited for harassment, police said.



BELLEFONTE — Two vehicles were involved in a collision at 3:55 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the intersection of Nittany Valley Driver and Snydertown Road in Walker Township, according to state police at Rockview.

Drivers were Robert P. Burda of Port Royal and Sharon L. Neff of Howard.

The crash occurred as Neff was northbound on Route 64 and Burda was north behind Neff. As Neff slowed down to turn left into Snydertown Road, Burda struck his vehicle in the rear, police said.

Burda and a 13-year old passenger in his car has suspected minor injuries, and were evaluated at the scene by Pleasant Gap EMS, police said.

Rear-end collision

BEECH CREEK — State police at Lamar investigated a rear-end collision at 3:57 p.m. on Feb. 12 on Route 150 near Eagle Valley Road in Beech Creek.

Drivers were Bradley M. Barrett, 23, of Lock Haven, and Heather M. Rossman, 44 of Mill Hall, police said.

Police said Barrett’s vehicle struck Rossman’s vehicle in the rear as another vehicle in front of them slowed down to turn left at the intersection.

Barrett was transported to Mount Nittany Hospital with suspected minor injuries, police said. Rossman complained of a possible injury was was not transported to the medical facility.

Car hits utility pole

LAMAR — Richard F. Grove, 21, of Lamar escaped injury when his car struck an embankment and a police on Narrows Road in Porter Township, at 5:38 p.m. on Feb. 15, according to state police at Lamar.

Police said Grove was westbound n Narrows Road when he lost control of his vehicle and it left the roadway and went through deep snow, up an embankment and struck a utility pole.

He was not injured, police said.

No injuries

in roll over

LAMAR — Both the driver and passenger were unhurt when their vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its roof on Interstate 80 near milemarker 173 at 10 p.m. Feb. 15, state police at Lamar report.

Police said Samprat H. Patel of Jersey City, N.J. was westbound when he lost control of his 2020 Ford Fusion and it went off the road and rolled onto its roof.

Neither Patel or a passenger in his car, Velsi Sorothiya, also of Jersey City, were injured, police said.

Snow, slippery road causes accident

SALONA — Donovan T. Schaul, 26, of Lock Haven, was the driver of a car that slid on the snow-covered road on Feb. 10 at 9:46 p.m. and struck the guiderails.

State police at Lamar report Schaul was exiting Route 220 southbound to turn onto Long Run Road and “was traveling too fast for conditions” when his car slid through the intersection and both lanes of Long Run Road and struck a guiderail.

There were no injuries and Martin Motors towed the car from the scene, police said.

Money stolen

from lock box

BELLEFONTE — Joseph Riley, 51, of Bellefonte, reported to state police at Rockview that an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from a lock box at 240 Deer Creek Lane, Benner Township, Center County on Feb. 13.

Weapon and drugs

LOCK HAVEN — Joshua David Hess, 35, of 139 N. Fairview St., Apartment A, Lock Haven, was charged by Lock Haven City Police for possessing a prohibited offensive weapon, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, which were found at his home on Feb. 15, city police report.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

LOCK HAVEN — Brooke L. Dickey, 30, and Colton L. Wagner, 24, of 119 S. Highland St., were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Lock Haven City Police on Feb. 15.

Police said the defendants possessed 31 items of drug paraphernalia while at their home on Jan. 18 at about 8:43 p.m.

Both defendants were on active probation and taken to the Clinton County Correctional Facility for violating their probation, police said.
