Hit and run
LOGANTON -- A case of hit and run was investigated by state police Lamar on March 24.
According to police, a 2001 Ford Escape being driven by Nicholas Hanley, 40, of Jersey Shore, struck a mailbox along Rockey Road in Greene Township, Clinton County. Hanley left the scene of the accident. When he was apprehended, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
The westbound lane was closed for approximately 30 minutes due to the accident.
Hanley was cited for his role in the crash. The incident took place around 5 p.m.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Sugar Valley Fire Company and Bressler's Towing.
Two-vehicle accident
LOGANTON -- A two-vehicle accident was investigated by state police at Lamar on March 23.
According to police, a 2021 Tesla Motors T3 being driven by Diana M. Esposito, 24, of Massapequa, N.Y., was traveling along Interstate 80 in eastbound when she fell asleep at the wheel and struck a 2020 Kenworth T-680 being driven by Brenda Larson, 55, of Reedsburg, Wisc., from behind. Damage to the Tesla was severe and had to be towed from the scene. Esposito was transported to UPMC Lock Haven for a suspected minor injury.
The crash took place around 1:11 p.m.
Police were assisted at the scene by Bressler's Towing.
Two-vehicle crash
WILLIAMSPORT -- A two-vehicle accident was investigated by state police at Montoursville on March 24.
Police say that a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta being driven by Joanna Beck, 32, of Jersey Shore was traveling East on Lincoln Drive when she struck a 2002 Jeep Liberty that was legally parked. Damage to both vehicles was severe and Beck was transported to UPMC Williamsport by Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.
Police were assisted at the scene by Loyalsock Emergency Services, PennDOT and Action Towing.
The accident, police say, took place around 6:35 a.m.
