Scattering rubbish

BELLEFONTE — A case of scattering rubbish was investigated by state police at Rockview.

According to police, the incident took place along Sunset Drive sometime between Sept. 1, 2020 through March 25, 2021 along Sunset Drive in Marion Township, Centre County.

The victim is a 68-year-old Howard female. The investigation continues.

Two-vehicle crash

BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 80 East on April 1.

According to police, a 2014 Kenworth DS being driven by Hardwinder Singh, 41, of Galloway, Ohio, was traveling near milemarker 162 on I-80, when he lost control of his vehicle. He left the roadway, regained control and then overturned. The vehicle came to rest across both lanes of traffic, where it was struck by Lubeliza Herrick, 53, of Bridgewater, N.J. She was driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4.

Herrick was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of her injuries by Bellefonte EMS. Singh was not injured in the crash.

The crash took place, police said, around 1 a.m.

DUI charge

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — A case of driving under the influence was investigated by state police at Montoursville on April 1.

According to police, a 41-year-old Lock Haven woman was stopped at the intersection of East Mountain Avenue and West Mountain Avenue around 1:12 a.m. She was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Sonic and was showing signs of impairment.

She was taken into custody for DUI.

Drug possession

BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview investigated a case of drug possession that took place on April 2.

According to police, Mason Stahl, 19, of Pittsburgh was stopped along Interstate 99 in Spring Township, Centre County in his 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. Police found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed through magisterial district justice 49-3-02.

The incident took place around 5:50 p.m.

Found property

BELLEFONTE — On March 31, state police at Rockview received a call from Chayton Brian Wakefield of Tavern Terrace, who reported that he found his friend’s handgun on his property and did not want it there.

State police confiscated the handgun and the man in question was scheduled to pick it up at the state police barracks.

The incident took place around 6:40 p.m., police said.

Dog law violation

HOWARD — State police at Rockview were called to Me Ma Lane in Curtin Township, Centre County, for a violation of a dog law on April 1.

After a thorough investigation, the victim decided that she did not want to press charges.

The incident took place around 2:30 p.m.

Drug charges

SNOW SHOE — A case of drug possession was investigated by state police at Rockview on April 1.

According to police, a 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass was stopped along Interstate 80 East for multiple traffic violations. An odor of marijuana was detected. A consent search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana, police said. Charges against Darrell Monday, 20, of Warren, Ohio are pending through magisterial district judge 49-3-03.

The incident took place around 8:59 a.m.

Marijuana charge

SNOW SHOE — State police at Rockview investigated a case of drug possession on April 2.

Police say that Cori McGhee, 23, of Toledo, Ohio was stopped along Interstate 80 East in her 2020 Toyota Corolla for a traffic violation. A search was conducted and marijuana was found inside the vehicle.

Charges are pending through magisterial district judge 49-3-03.

The incident took place around 7:50 p.m.
