Two cited for vandalism
at Tiger Den
LOCK HAVEN -- Blake Cain, 18, of Mill Hall and an 11-year-old Lock Haven girl were cited for criminal mischief involving vandalism at the Tiger Den playground on April 24, Lock Haven City Police said.
Police said assistance from the public helped identify the two suspects.
DUI charge
SPRING MILLS -- A case of driving under the influence was investigated by state police at Rockview on May 6.
According to police, a 35-year-old Spring Mills woman was stopped at the intersection of N. Pennsylvania Avenue and Overlook Drive in Potter Township, Centre County.
One-vehicle crash
TAYLOR TOWNSHIP -- State police at Rockview investigated a one-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 99 in Taylor Township, Centre County.
According to police, a 2009 Honda Civic being driven by Victoria Crabtree, 21, of Hollidaysburg, was reaching for a bottle of water when the Civic left the roadway and struck a guiderail. Damage to the Civic was severe and had to be towed from the scene by Halfmoon Towing. The Bald Eagle Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
Two-vehicle accident
MILL HALL -- A two-vehicle accident took place on May 6 along Eagle Valley Road in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County, state police at Lamar report.
According to police, a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt being driven by Michael Bower, 25, of Jersey Shore, was traveling north along state Route 150. Police say that Bower became distracted and struck a 2014 Mazda 5 being driven by Tina Wheeler, 52, of Mill Hall. Wheeler was stopped and was attempting to turn left onto Charlie Drive.
The Cobalt was disabled as a result of the crash and had to be towed from the scene. Bower was cited for his role in the accident.
The crash took place at 4:04 p.m.
One-vehicle crash
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar investigated a one-vehicle crash that took place along Creek Road in Bald Eagle Township on May 7.
According to police, a 2004 Ford Explorer being driven by Malachi Draper, 21, of Mill Hall was traveling along Creek Road near its intersection with Lusk Run Road.
The Explorer left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed. Draper was taken to UPMC Williamsport by the Goodwill Fire Company ambulance. All lanes of the roadway were closed for approximately 40 minutes, police said.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Mill Hall Fire Department, Lock Haven EMS, Goodwill Hose Fire Company EMS and Martin Motors.
Damage to the Explorer was severe. Draper was cited for his role in the crash.
DUI alleged
BELLEFONTE -- State police at Rockview investigated a case of driving under the influence on April 25.
According to police, a traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of Rolling Ridge Drive and Eagle Point in Benner Township, Centre County.
It was determined that the driver of a 2007 Ford Mustang, Jesse Kitko, 37, of Houtzdale, was driving under the influence of drugs. Kitko refused a blood draw. He was transported to the Centre County Booking Center, where he was processed and released.
The incident took place around 2:50 a.m.
Tractor trailer accident
LAMAR -- A two-vehicle accident was investigated by state police at Lamar on May 7.
According to police, a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia collided with a 2019 International LT625 in the parking lot of the Pilot, located along Nittany Valley Drive in Porter Township, Clinton County.
The crash took place around midnight. Both vehicles were driveable. There were no injuries reported.
Police did not release the names of the drivers involved in the accident.
Two-vehicle crash
WILLIAMSPORT -- A two-vehicle crash took place in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge, located at 2019 E. Third St., in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County on April 27, state police at Montoursville report.
According to police, a 2021 Toyota 4Runner was being backed out of a parking spot when it struck a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer, which was being driven by Amy Masorti, 42, of Lock Haven. Police say the driver of the 4Runner left the scene via the Sheetz parking lot.
The incident took place around 8:46 p.m., police said.
Interstate 80 accident
BELLEFONTE -- A two-vehicle crash took place along Interstate 80 on May 5, state police at Rockview report.
According to police, a 2016 Ford Escape being driven by Devon Rampe, 43, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, was traveling in the left lane of Interstate 80 East when he swerved into the right lane and struck a 2016 Western Star SB4900 being driven by Surjit Hothi, 62, of Fremont, Calif. As a result, the Escape spun out of control before coming to rest. Damage to the Escape was moderate and Rampe was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College by Bellefonte EMS for treatment of his injuries. Rampe was not hurt in the crash.
The crash took place around 2:20 p.m., police say.
DUI alleged
BELLEFONTE -- A case of driving under the influence was investigated by state police at Rockview on April 8.
According to police, a vehicle being driven by Dylan Jones, 24, of Bellefonte was stopped by police around 11:55 p.m. The stop took place at the intersection of North Thomas Street and West Lamb Street in Bellefonte Borough.
It was determined that Jones was driving under the influence of alcohol.
