Jail time for Bellefonte man
BELLEFONTE -- A Bellefonte man will see almost 100 months behind prison bars after allegedly trying to sell almost 290 grams of meth and other drugs.
United States Attorney John C. Gurganus said that Ryan King, 40, pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine and LSD with the intent to distribute them to others back in November 2021. After an investigation by state police, he was found with 286 grams of methamphetamine, nearly two grams of liquid LSD, drug paraphernalia and also a .22 caliber handgun.
The case is prosecuted as part of the joint federal, state, and local Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program. Through the program, stakeholders identify and work to come up with solutions to violent crimes.
State police were assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Intimate image sent
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar investigated a case of the dissemination of an intimate image on April 8.
According to police, a 16-year-old Lock Haven female sent an intimate images and videos to a 19-year-old Mill Hall man on Snapchat. Police determined that the images and were sent by the juvenile. Charges were filed through Magisterial District Justice 25-3-02.
One-vehicle crash
RENOVO -- State police at Lamar were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along state Route 120 in Grugan Township, Clinton County, on April 8.
According to police, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox being driven by Alyse Dremel, 37, of Renovo, was traveling along Renovo Road when she fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a ditch and then an embankment. Damage was severe, but Dremel was not hurt in the crash.
The crash took place at 6:56 p.m., police said.
DUI
BEECH CREEK -- State police at Lamar made a a pair of arrests on April 6.
According to police, a traffic stop was made for Title 75 violations. During the traffic stop, the driver and a passenger fled on foot. Police took a 32-year-old Williamsport man and a 50-year-old Williamsport man into custody. Charges for drugs and driving under the influence will be filed through magisterial district justice 25-3-02.
The traffic stop took place at the intersection of Eagle Valley Road and Stonehouse Lane in Beech Creek Township, Clinton County. The stop took place at 8:21 p.m.
Weapon possession
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar investigated a weapons charge at Central Mountain High School on April 8.
According to police, a student was found to be in possession of a pocket knife while on school property at 64 Keystone Central Drive. Charges are pending in the incident.
