Fatal crash
LOGANTON -- State police at Lamar responded to a crash at Pine Loganton Road in Greene Township.
According to police, the crash occurred at 10:25 a.m. on May 26 as Charles Matter, 80, of Loganton, crossed the northbound lane and struck a culvert to the east of the roadway with his Subaru Forester.
Matter's vehicle allegedly overturned and came to a final rest on its roof in the ditch south of the culvert.
Matter was taken to UPMC Williamsport by Life Flights for sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on May 27, police said in their report.
Harassment
CASTANEA -- William Swortwood, 42, of Mill Hall, was charged with harassment along US 220 North and Paul Mack Road in Castanea Township.
The incident occurred on May 22 as Swortwood exited a vehicle while stopped at a red light and approached an 18-year-old male victim in his vehicle, according to state police at Lamar.
The victim allegedly put down his window as the Swortwood was approaching him. Swortwood then struck the victim in the face.
No other incidents occurred after and summary offenses were filed against Swortwood at District Court 25-3-01.
Resisting arrest
CASTANEA -- Jeremiah Titus, 41, of Lock Haven, was charged with resisting arrest after he violated a PFA at 200 East Keller Street in Castanea Township.
According to state police at Lamar, troopers had to physically restrain Titus due to him not cooperating on May 25.
The arrest was made in light of a PFA violation that occurred between May 23 and May 25, when Titus was arrested. According to police, he had been calling and leaving voicemails on his ex's phone.
Titus was charged for resisting arrest through District Court 25-3-01.
Harassment
BEECH CREEK -- Franklin Wetzel, 37, of Orviston, was charged with physical harassment after shoving a 30-year-old woman, of Orviston, at Tank Lane and Monument Orviston Road in Beech Creek Township.
According to state police at Lamar, the altercation occurred on May 25 between Wetzel and the victim.
Wetzel was charged with harassment through District Court 25-3-02.
Drug possession
RAUCHTOWN -- Kenneth Frey, 35, of Jersey Shore, was charged with drug possession and public drunkenness at 3246 Rauchtown Road in Crawford Township.
According to state police at Lamar, Frey was observed to be under the influence of a controlled substance on May 25. During a search incident to arrest, two small plastic baggies of suspected Methamphetamine, one small plastic baggie of suspected suboxone and a hypodermic needle were all found inside Frey's front pocket, police said in their report.
Frey was transported to Clinton County Jail where he was charged with public drunkenness and all related Act 64 violations.
DUI
MILL HALL -- A 62-year-old male, of Lock Haven, was charged with DUI at Hogan Boulevard at King Arthur Drive in Bald Eagle Township.
According to state police at Lamar, troopers were investigating an incident at the location when the intoxicated arrestee drove to the scene and exited his vehicle on May 21.
Upon further investigation, the man was arrested for DUI.
Crash
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar responded to a crash at Mill Hall Road in Bald Eagle Township.
According to police, the crash occurred at 3:28 p.m. on May 23 as Ryan Carlen, 30, of Lock Haven, was attempting to make a u-turn at the intersection of Mill Hall Road and Hogan Boulevard in a Ford F-350. Carlen failed to safely negotiate the maneuver and struck a Ford F-150XLT driven by Kristen Calhoun, 42, of Jersey Shore, at the 9 o'clock position, police said in their report.
Following the initial impact, all involved units came to a controlled stop off the roadway in the traffic way at Walmart.
All involved occupants were utilizing their safety restraints and no injuries were reported.
Crash
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar responded to a crash at Eagle Valley Road in Bald Eagle Township.
According to police, the crash occurred at 8:09 a.m. on May 23 as the 16-year-old driver of a Volvo C70 and Vincent Kishbaugh, the driver of a Honda, were both traveling southbound on Eagle Valley Road near its intersection with North Water Street.
Kishbaugh came to a traffic signal that was actively turning from yellow to red and as he was coming to a stop, the 16-year-old driver failed to see the stop/or traffic signal, police said in their report. At that time, the front portion of the teenage driver's vehicle struck the rear portion of Kishbaugh's vehicle.
Both units came to a final rest in the southbound lane facing south.
Assault
RENOVO -- Jordan Mooney, 22, of Renovo, was the victim of assault at 150 15th Street in Renovo Borough.
On May 23, Mooney was struck on the back of his head, causing a laceration, according to state police at Lamar.
