LH woman charged
with trespassing
LOCK HAVEN -- A 22-year-old Lock Haven woman was arrested and charged with trespassing after returning to the Nittany Minit Mart, 25 Woodward Ave., Woodward Township.
Woodward Township Police were called to the convenience store on Sept. 20 where they found Desirea Jordan sitting behind the Nittany Minit Mart building.
Jordan allegedly entered an employees only portion of the store before fleeing, police said. She was told during a previous incident in June that if she returned to the store she would be charged with trespassing.
According to police, during the recent incident Jordan pulled out a BIC brand cigarette lighter, valued at $2.11, and admitted to stealing it from the store.
The statement was confirmed after police viewed store security footage.
This was Jordan's third retail theft offence meaning, no matter the value of the merchandise, it was graded as a third degree felony, police said.
Jordan was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Keith Kibler.
DUI
WILLIAMSPORT -- State police at Montoursville investigated a case of driving under the influence on Sept. 18.
According to police, a 43-year-old Lock Haven man was stopped in his 2009 Nissan Altima for summary traffic violations. It was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol.
The traffic stop took place at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Elmira Street in Williamsport at 2:06 a.m., police said.
Two-vehicle crash
LINDEN -- State police at Montoursville were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that took place along state Route 220 in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, on July 9.
According to police, a 1999 Jeep Cherokee was traveling along state Route 220 when it left the roadway, struck a concrete barrier and then struck a 2015 Jeep Cherokee being driven by Daryl Hunsberger, 53, of Lock Haven. The driver of the 1999 Jeep Cherokee fled the scene before police could arrive.
Damage to both vehicles was severe in the 11:46 p.m. crash. Police were assisted at the scene by the Woodward Township Fire Department.
