Stolen Air Pods

MILL HALL -- A pair of Apple Air Pods, valued at $240, were taken from a locker at Central Mountain High School on Oct. 11, 2022, according to state police at Lamar.

Attempted theft by deception

FLEMINGTON -- A 67-year-old Lock Haven woman was a victim of an attempted theft by deception on April 4.

An unknown suspect contacted the victim and convinced her she owed them money, police said. The actor told her to go to the bank and withdraw a large sum of money, police said. They then told her to go to Walmart and use the money to buy gift cards, police said.

The suspect told the victim that they would meet her at a location they would disclose at a later time, so she could give them the cards, police said. The victim contacted police before carrying out the instructions.

Home improvement fraud

FLEMINGTON -- A home improvement fraud, totaling $30,000, along Parkwood Drive in Flemington Borough on March 28, was reported to state police at Lamar.

Police are investigating.

Harassment

LOGANTON -- Brady Shaw, 25, of Freedom, was charged with harassment toward Charles Gordon, of Luzerne, after shoving him during a child custody exchange at 784 N. Mill St. in Greene Township on April 8, according to state police at Lamar. When Gordon was shoved, he fell over the hood of his vehicle, police said.

Shaw was charged with one count of harassment through District Judge John Maggs's office.

Found wallet

LOGANTON -- State police at Lamar have a found wallet containing an ID for Jayda Veloz. Attempts to contact the owner have been unsuccessful, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

Cruelty to animals

LOGANTON -- A 36-year-old Loganton man was arrested for animal cruelty on April 4 along East Valley Road in Greene Township, according to state police at Lamar.

Police are investigating the incident.

Two-vehicle crash with injury

LOGANTON -- A two vehicle crash took place along Interstate 80 in Greene Township on April 10, leaving the operator of a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, John Schooley, 80, of Fairmont, W.Va., with minor injuries, according to state police at Lamar.

Schooley was traveling approximately 60 miles per hour in the left lane and proceeded to rear end a 2006 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 17-year-old female, of North Dartmouth, Mass., police said.

The Jeep Wrangler was already disabled from a previous crash, resting in the left lane, police said. Schooley's vehicle also sustained disabling damage.

The 17-year-old was not injured, according to police.

Sugar Valley Fire Company, Tressler's Towing and Martin Motors Towing assisted on the scene.

Hit and run

ROTE -- An unknown operator of a tractor trailer is responsible for a hit and run crash that caused minor damage to a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Carl Bible, Jr., 85, of Milford, Ohio, according to state police at Lamar.

The tractor trailer attempted to switch lanes without having proper clearance and moved from the left lane to the right lane, striking Bible's vehicle, police said.

Unknown damage was caused to the tractor trailer and it could not be located, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Drug possession

ROTE -- A 37-year-old man, of Taunton, Mass., was arrested for drug possession during a traffic stop at 185.7 Interstate 80 in Lamar Township, according to state police at Lamar.

Upon further investigation of the arrestee's vehicle on April 10, indicators of criminal activity were observed and a consent to search was requested and granted, yielding found controlled substances, police said. Charges will be filed through District Judge John Maggs's office.

DUI

ROTE -- A 23-year-old Bellefonte man was arrested for driving under the influence at 1073 US 220 South in Lamar Township, according to state police at Lamar.

A traffic stop was conducted on the arrestee for multiple vehicle code violations on April 15, police said. Further investigation determined the operator was under the influence of alcohol to the point that he could not safely operate a motor vehicle, police said.

Charges will be filed through District Judge John Maggs's office.

Harassment

LAMAR -- A 45-year-old Mill Hall man was charged with harassment after a domestic incident was reported along Whitetail Circle in Porter Township on April 10, according to state police at Lamar.
