Drug possession and DUI
LAMAR -- A 61-year-old man, of Indianapolis, Ind., was arrested during a traffic stop along Interstate 80 East in Porter Township for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance, according to state police at Lamar.
At 7:44 a.m. on May 27, the arrestee was pulled over for a traffic violation, police said. He was then determined to be under the influence and in possession of the controlled substance. Charges are pending.
Stolen vehicle found
RENOVO -- Jordan Mooney, 23, of North Bend, was arrested for stealing a 2000 White Chevrolet Impala from a 71-year-old man, of Renovo, at Socky's Restaurant along Erie Avenue in Renovo Borough on April 9, according to state police at Lamar.
The vehicle was found on Quarter Mile Road in Renovo, police said.
Mooney was taken into custody without incident and charges were filed through District Judge Frank Mills.
DUI
RENOVO -- A 52-year-old Renovo man was charged with driving under the influence during a traffic stop at the intersection of 5th Street and Erie Avenue in Renovo Borough on May 27, according to state police at Lamar.
Chemical testing was consented to and charges are pending the lab results, police said.
Terroristic threats
AVIS -- A 54-year-old Jersey Shore man was arrested for terroristic threats after threatening his wife that he was going to "burn down his home" if she did not return home after a verbal argument at their residence along Sulphur Run Road in Pine Creek Township, according to state police at Lamar.
At 10:32 p.m. on May 21, the arrestee engaged in a verbal argument with his wife at their home, prompting her to leave the residence, police said.
The arrestee made several threats of burning down the house after she did not return home. He proceeded to dump gasoline around the front lawn area of the residence, making more threats of burning the house down, police said.
The arrestee was taken into custody near the scene and was transported to the Clinton County Jail to await arraignment.
DUI
AVIS -- On May 21, a traffic stop was conducted on a 2022 Hyundai Kona due to the operator's involvement in a domestic incident along Block Valley View Road in Pine Creek Township, according to state police at Lamar.
Indicators of impairment were observed and the operator was placed under arrest for DUI, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
Motorcycle crash with injury
AVIS -- Adam Johnson, 28, of Lock Haven, sustained minor injuries and was cited after a motorcycle crash that took place along Island Road in Pine Creek Township on May 30, according to state police at Lamar.
Prior to the impact, Johnson passed a vehicle on the left, and returned to the eastbound lane in his 2009 Honda CBR600. As he came back into the lane, he began to lose control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway on the south side, police said.
Johnson continued about 48 feet in the grass where the motorcycle slid on its left side, police said. He came to a stop about 140 feet east of where his motorcycle left the road, facing south, police said.
Johnson continued through the grass, coming to a stop about 208 feet from where he left the roadway, police said.
Johnson was transported to Geisinger in Jersey Shore for minor injuries. He did not possess a valid class "M" endorsement permit, and was cited with classes of licenses and driving on the roadways laned for traffic, police said.
Theft of motor vehicle
MILL HALL -- Wayne Hackenberg, 18, of Renovo, was arrested for stealing a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado from a 31-year-old Mill Hall woman along Lionel Lane in Bald Eagle Township on May 23, according to state police at Lamar.
The vehicle was submitted into the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network as stolen and was eventually found crashed on State Route 664 with no operator on the scene, police said.
An extensive search was conducted for Hackenberg, with negative results, police said. He was subsequently located in Williamsport on May 23 and interviewed by state police.
The teen confessed to the theft of the vehicle and was then lodged in the Clinton County Correctional Facility on charges for a separate stolen vehicle on the same day, police said.
Charges for theft by unlawful taking-movable property, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving without valid license were filed through District Judge John Maggs' office.
Two-vehicle crash with injuries
MILL HALL -- Three people sustained injuries after a two-vehicle crash along Eagle Valley Road in Bald Eagle Township at 11:09 a.m. on May 27, according to state police at Lamar.
Gilbert Mundorff, Jr., 71, of Blanchard, was traveling west in a 2007 Honda CRV while James Sheasley, 33, of Lock Haven, was driving east in a 2017 Nissan Altima.
Mundorff crossed into the eastbound lane and struck Sheasley's vehicle, head on, at its 12 o'clock position, police said.
Mundorff came to a stop on the south side of the roadway and Sheasley came to a stop 15 yards off the north side of the roadway, police said. Both of the vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by Martin Motors.
Mundorff, Sheasley and his passenger sustained suspected minor injuries and were all transported by EMS to UPMC Lock Haven and UPMC Cole, police said.
Lock Haven EMS and Goodwill Hose Ambulance assisted on the scene.
Harassment
FLEMINGTON -- Jamal Aiken, 22, of Mill Hall, was arrested following a physical harassment incident with his girlfriend, 21, of Lock Haven, along Woods Avenue in Flemington Borough on May 27, according to state police at Lamar.
During the argument, Aiken shoved his girlfriend three times and fled the scene prior to the arrival of police.
Charges for harassment were filed through District Judge Keith Kibler's office.
High speed pursuit
LOGANTON -- Kent Kuang, 27, of Fort Riley, Kan., was arrested after fleeing police attempting to conduct a traffic stop along Interstate 80 West in Greene Township on May 26, according to state police at Lamar.
Kuang failed to yield to police and initiated a pursuit with speeds reaching in excess of 100 miles per hour over the course of nine miles, police said. He eventually stopped his 2008 Lexus voluntarily after multiple state police units were involved.
Kuang was taken into custody without further incident and charges of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, recklessly endangering another person, speeding, careless driving, reckless driving, obedience to traffic control devices, disregarding traffic lanes and driving at safe speeds were filed through District Judge John Maggs' office.
Crash with severe injuries
LOGANTON -- Doris French, 82, of New Martinsvil, W.Va., sustained serious injuries after a crash along Interstate 80 in Greene Township at 2:34 p.m. on May 22, according to state police at Lamar.
French was traveling in the right lane in a 2017 Toyota Corolla and left the lane, crossed the left lane and crashed into an embankment, police said. After the initial impact, the vehicle traveled back across the roadways and crashed into an embankment off the right side of the interstate where it came to a final stop, police said.
French was life-flighted from the scene to Geisinger in Danville for moderate to severe injuries, police said. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Crash
LOCKPORT -- Patrick Marsh, 66, of Lock Haven, crashed his 2013 Ford Explorer along Woodward Avenue in Woodward Township after a bee flew in through the window, landing on his glasses and caused him to jerk the wheel, according to state police at Lamar. He abruptly swerved right and into the guide rail, causing damage to the front passenger side, police said. The wheel broke off of the vehicle and it continued to coast down the road until Marsh was able to place the vehicle into park, police said.
Marsh was not injured as a result of the crash but the vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed from the scene by Jim Johnson Towing.
Lock Haven Hand-in-Hand and Dunnstown Fire Department assisted on the scene.
