AVIS -- State police at Lamar investigated a protection from abuse violation along West Central Avenue in Avis Borough where a suspect allegedly called the victim, leaving a voicemail on July 7.
Endangering welfare of child
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar along with Children and Youth Services investigated an incident of child endangerment of a 10-year-old between June 1 and June 27 along Hobson Street in Mill Hall Borough.
No injuries were observed on the child and they were deemed to be safe and in good living conditions, police said.
Retail theft
MILL HALL -- A 17-year-old female juvenile, of Lock Haven, was arrested for retail theft of $672.79 worth of cash from the Mill Hall Walmart at 167 Hogan Boulevard in Bald Eagle Township, according to state police at Lamar.
The arrestee allegedly stole five gift cards, totalling $350, and $322.82 worth of cash, between May 13 and July 4.
Crash with injury
RENOVO -- Bernard West, 77, of Sellersville, was transported to UPMC Williamsport for minor injuries sustained from a crash involving a black bear along Renovo Road in Grugan Township, state police at Lamar said.
West was traveling westbound at 11:06 a.m. on July 5 in-between two other vehicles when a bear entered the roadway in front of the first vehicle, police said.
In an effort to avoid both the bear and the vehicle in front of him, West swerved his 2012 Chevrolet Impala to the left and lost control, police said.
The vehicle proceeded to strike a rocky embankment, causing it to rollover, police said.
The vehicle was disabled from the crash and was towed from the scene by Martin Motors.
