Theft from vehicles
MILL HALL -- Mill Hall Borough Police are encouraging residents to be cautious and ensure their vehicles are locked.
"Due to the widespread thefts from vehicles throughout the county, do not leave valuables inside your vehicles, lock the doors when the vehicle isn't in use, call 911 if you see a dome light on in a vehicle, door open, or something lurking around a neighborhood at night," a release from the department via Crimewatch said.
The department encourages those who live in a dark location to keep a porch light on to deter any potential criminal activity, the release said.
Identity theft
LOCKPORT -- Someone attempted to fraudulently access a Woodward Township resident's banking account, Woodward Township Police said.
The alleged attempt was made on Aug. 17, with the victim discovering the incident before any funds could be stolen, police said.
One vehicle crash
MILESBURG -- The driver of a 2013 Kia Sportage and her passengers were not injured from a one-vehicle crash along Mill Street in Milesburg on Aug. 17, state police at Rockview said.
At 9:47 a.m., a 16-year-old Bellefonte girl and her passengers, Benjamin P. Silverstein, 40, of Curwensville, Pa. and Tanya J. Parkes, 47, of Milesburg, were making a turn from Commercial Street onto Mill Street when the Kia left the roadway and struck a porch, police said.
The crash caused disabling damage to the vehicle and porch, police said.
Police were assisted on the scene by Bellefonte EMS, Milesburg Fire Department and Rich's Towing.
DUI
ROTE -- A Mill Hall man was allegedly found to be driving under the influence during a traffic stop along Long Run Road on Aug. 4, Mill Hall Borough Police said.
The driver was pulled over at 9:16 p.m. in the area of East End Mountain Road in a 2013 Jeep, police said.
Charges will be filed through District Judge John Maggs' office, police said.
Theft from motor vehicle
LOCK HAVEN -- Woodward Township Police are investigating theft from a motor vehicle that occurred overnight between Aug. 20 and Aug. 21 along Hillspire Drive, Woodward Township.
According to police, money and a flashlight were stolen from an unlocked parked vehicle between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m.
Anyone who has experienced similar thefts or saw a suspicious person in the area at that time, or has video or information about the incident is asked to contact the Woodward Township Police Department at 570-858-5676.
