Avis man arraigned on drug charges

AVIS -- On Oct. 20, Gilbert J. Stevenson, 49, of Avis, was arraigned on an arrest warrant that was obtained by the Pine Creek Township Police Department following an ongoing drug delivery investigation.

According to Crimewatch, Gilbert Stevenson was charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, two felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Stevenson is accused of selling 5.2 grams of bath salts to an informant on April 4 for $270. He is also accused of selling 30 grams of methamphetamine to an informant for $500 at his residence on West Martin Street in Avis on April 28.

Stevenson was arraigned by District Judge Keith Kibler. Bail was set at $50,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 23. Stevenson remains committed to the Clinton County Correctional Facility on similar charges from another incident where he is accused of selling controlled substances.
