Two vehicle crash
CENTRE HALL -- State police at Rockview are investigating a two vehicle crash that took place on Earlystown Road, Potter Township, Centre County on Dec. 10.
The crash took place at 7:45 p.m. when a 2024 Subaru Outback, driven by Judy L. Leonard, 70, of Boalsburg, was traveling west on the roadway and, for an unknown reason, crossed the center line and struck a 2019 Ford Escape, driven by Betty J. Bailey, 77, of Centre Hall, police said.
After striking Bailey's vehicle, Leonard's vehicle traveled off the south side of the road and struck a utility pole, police said.
Leonard was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained suspected moderate injuries, police said. She was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Penns Valley EMS.
According to police, Leonard was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.
Bailey was wearing her seatbelt and sustained suspected minor injuries, refusing medical transport, police said.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage and were towed from the scene by Gray's Towing, police said.
An investigation into the crash is on-going, police said.
Stolen check
MILL HALL -- A 58-year-old Mill Hall man was the victim of identity theft recently, state police at Lamar said.
On Nov. 25 at about 7:49 p.m., police received a report that an unknown suspect obtained checks with the victim's name and attempted to cash them in different states, police said.
PFA Violation
JERSEY SHORE -- A 44-year-old Jersey Shore woman was the victim of a PFA violation in Crawford Township on Nov. 24, state police at Lamar said.
At 11:45 a.m., it was reported to police that the violation occurred in the 2000 Block of Rauchtown Road in Crawford Township.
Retail theft
MILL HALL -- A 27-year-old Mill Hall woman was taken into custody for a theft at Walmart in Mill Hall on Dec. 23, state police at Lamar said.
Police were called to the store at 7 p.m. where, through an investigation, it was discovered the woman stole $38.08 worth of items, police said.
Charges were filed through District Judge John Maggs' office, police said.
Criminal Mischief
JERSEY SHORE -- State police at Lamar received reports of criminal mischief in Crawford Township on Nov. 24.
A 72-year-old man contacted police about rocks hitting his 2012 Hyundai along Pine Mountain Road in the township, police said.
Identity theft
BEECH CREEK -- A 51-year-old Beech Creek man was the victim of identity theft, state police at Lamar said.
The victim contacted police, telling officers someone was trying to open credit cards in his name that were previously canceled, police said.
Drug possession
LAMAR -- A 39-year-old Virginia woman was taken into custody for driving under the influence and drug possession following a traffic stop near the intersection of Auction Road and Harris Lane in Lamar Township on Dec. 24, state police at Lamar said.
The driver's 2012 Toyota was pulled over at 2:41 a.m. for several traffic violations, police said.
Following the traffic stop, the woman was taken into custody, police said.
Criminal charges will be filed through District Judge John Maggs' office, police said.
DUI alleged
BELLEFONTE -- A 48-year-old Milesburg woman was found to be under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop along Benner Pike in Benner Township, in Centre County, on Dec. 14, state police at Rockview said.
The woman's 2008 Hyundai Elantra was stopped at 8:08 p.m. after reports of driving erratically, police said.
The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.
PSP are continuing to investigate.
Animal cruelty
BLANCHARD -- State police at Rockview are investigating alleged animal cruelty in Liberty Township, Centre County.
Police received a report of the potential activity involving a 35-year-old Blanchard man which occurred on Oct. 7, police said.
Charges are pending the investigation, police said.
Sexual assault investigation
BELLEFONTE -- State police at Rockview are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred between Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 31, 2020 in Benner Township, Centre County.
Assault
MILESBURG -- A 39-year-old Milesburg man was arrested for assault-bodily injury with no weapon following a domestic incident in Milesburg Borough on Dec. 25, state police at Rockview said.
Police were called to a residence along Water Street at 5:30 p.m. for an active domestic, police said. After arriving on scene, police spoke with the arrestee and victim who had signs of bodily injury, police said.
The man was taken into custody and charges were prepared, police said.
An investigation into the incident continues, police said.
