Burglary
BEECH CREEK -- Between Jan. 12 and Jan. 14, an unknown suspect entered through the front door of a seasonal residence of a 40-year-old man, of Dillsburg, along Peacock Trail where they allegedly stole various items, according to state police at Lamar.
There is an ongoing investigation regarding the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 570-726-6000.
DUI
FLEMINGTON -- A 28-year-old man, of Lock Haven, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop at the intersection of High Street and Hogan Boulevard in Allison Township, according to state police at Lamar.
At about 11:52 p.m. on Jan. 13, the driver was pulled over for an alleged equipment violation, police said.
Upon investigation, it was determined he was under the influence and chemical testing was consented, police said.
Charges are pending the lab results.
Theft by deception
RENOVO -- Renovo Borough Police are investigating a fraud incident and theft from a 62-year-old Chapman Township resident who had two alleged transactions, totaling $691.60, fraudulently withdrawn from her bank account, in December 2023 and January 2024.
The incident occurred when an alleged male caller with a foreign accent was able to obtain the victim's personal information during a fraudulent phone call and pretended to be from the victim's insurance company, police said.
Theft by deception
RENOVO -- Renovo Borough Police are investigating an attempted theft by deception and identity theft from a 78-year-old Renovo resident that took place on Jan 17.
The victim allegedly received messages on her computer and phone calls where a male suspect with a foreign accent was able to take control of the victim's computer remotely, police said.
The suspect allegedly demanded a total of $3,600 from the victim. However, the victim was able to cancel her bank accounts before the suspect completed any unauthorized transactions, police said.
DUI
AVIS -- A 65-year-old man, of Williamsport, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in the area of mile marker 118 along state Route 220 in Pine Creek Township on Dec. 22. 2023, according to state police at Lamar.
Charges were filed through District Judge Keith Kibler's office.
