Former Clinton County man wanted for sexual assault of child takes his own life in West Virginia
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — A former Clinton County man wanted for sexual assault of a child took his own life on Wednesday morning, according to a release from the Clinton County District Attorney’s office.
Members of the United States Marshals assigned to the Fugitive Task Force descended on an establishment in Parkersburg, West Virginia at 8:20 a.m. on July 3 where they were informed fugitive Jimmy “Hank” Carlton Henry was employed, the release said.
“As law enforcement approached, Henry reportedly suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound that proved fatal. Henry was pronounced dead at the scene,” the release said.
Henry was listed as one of the Pennsylvania State Police 10 Most Wanted Fugitives since he was charged with the 2020 sexual assault of a minor child in Castanea, the release said.
Prior to being charged by police, Henry fled Clinton County and deactivated his cell phone, the release said.
Henry was charged with Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, Aggravated Indecent Assault, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
