Truck accident

MILESBURG — On Nov. 1, at 2:30 a.m., a tractor-trailer operated by Maninderjit Singh, 30, of New Hyde Park, N.Y., experienced brake failure while exiting Interstate 80 onto Eagle Valley Road in Boggs Township, according to state police at Rockview.

The vehicle crossed the road, struck a guide rail and collided with a set of railroad tracks, police said.

The 2020 Freightliner Cascadia sustained heavy damage, rupturing its fuel tank and overturning its trailer, police said. Approximately 50 feet of guide rail and 300 feet of railroad track were destroyed. Norfolk Southern was notified and the railway was shut down, police reported.

DUI

MILESBURG — Joseph Williams, 35, of Bellwood, was charged with driving under the influence after showing signs of impairment during field sobriety tests conducted following a traffic stop for several Title 75 violations on Nov. 10, shortly after 2 a.m., according to state police at Rockview.

Theft by deception

SPRING MILLS — On Nov. 8, an 85-year-old Millheim woman reported an unknown suspect had posed as an acquaintance over email and requested a cashier’s check for $1,150, according to state police at Rockview.

The victim mailed the check directly to a post office in Oregon, but investigative action was able to place a stop on the check and recover the victim’s money, police said.

Due to the suspect operating over cyberspace and using fake email addresses, police were unable to locate a suspect.

Theft

RENOVO — Renovo police have charged 31 year old Mariah Morocko, of Renovo, with theft and criminal trespass offenses stemming from an incident that occurred on Nov. 13 into Nov. 14.

Police said Morocko was on the property of the Goodwill Store, 112 3rd St. in Renovo, after hours and allegedly stole property after being told not to be there by both store management and police.

Morocco has been charged by summons through District Court 25-3-03, police said.

Two-vehicle non-reportable crash

LOCK HAVEN — On Nov. 14, 2024, Woodward Township police investigated a 2 vehicle crash which occurred along Farrandsville Rd. near Haven Pines Dr. around 3:18 p.m.

According to police, 58 year old Grace Johnston, of Orviston, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck eastbound on Farrandsville Rd. and allegedly crossed the centerline of the road, striking the mirror of a 2014 Subaru Forester being driven westbound by 70 year-old Patricia Carta, of Lock Haven.

There were no injuries and the vehicles sustained minor damage, police said.

Two-vehicle accident

MILLHEIM — On Nov. 7 at 4:08 p.m., a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer and 2017 Toyota Tundra collided at the intersection of Penns Valley Road and Paradise Road when the operator of the Mitsubishi failed to yield, according to state police at Rockview.

The operator of the Mitsubishi was charged with failure to heed signage, police said.

Deer collision

MILESBURG — Jahongir Abdulloev, 29, of Columbus, Ohio, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 in Boggs Township when a deer entered the roadway without enough time for Abdulloev to stop, according to state police at Rockview.

The 2024 Lincoln he was operating was towed from the scene by AAA, police said.

Single vehicle accident

HOWARD — Joshua L. Nyman, 44, of Howard, was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center on Nov. 13 for suspected minor injuries after striking a tree and rolling down an embankment on Curtin Hollow Road when he swerved to avoid hitting an animal on the roadway, according to state police at Rockview.

Deer collision

SNOW SHOE — Abraham Labkobsky, 34, of Oak Park, Mich., was traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 in Snow Shoe Township when a deer entered the roadway without enough time for him to stop, according to state police at Rockview.

The 2015 Honda Odyssey he was operating was towed from the scene by Rees’ Towing, police said.

Harassment,

physical contact

LOCK HAVEN — On Nov. 16, state police at Lamar were dispatched to a report of harassment in Bald Eagle Township near Fairway View Drive.

Police said upon arrival it was discovered that a physical altercation occurred involving two females, Jayme Benner, 38, and Tracie Pieniazek, 50, both of Lock Haven.

According to police, charges were filed at District Court 25-3-02.

Burglary

LOCK HAVEN – State police at Lamar reported an improper code being placed into a locked door in Flemington Borough on Aug. 30 at approximately 1:57 a.m.

Police said the building ended up being broken into and multiple items were damaged; the actor fled the scene.

This case is still under investigation.

Harassment

MILL HALL — On Nov. 16 at approximately 9:51 a.m., state police at Lamar were dispatched to a property on Sugar Run Road in Bald Eagle Township for a report of a known juvenile female, 16, of Howard, causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the property.

Through investigation it was determined the juvenile struck the victim, an unnamed 49 year old female, of Mill Hall, during an altercation, police said.

According to police, charges were filed through MDJ 25-3-02.

Drug possession

LOCK HAVEN — On Nov. 9 at approximately 12:35 p.m., state police at Lamar investigated a case involving possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, an unnamed 34 year old male of Lock Haven was involved in this report.

Charges were filed through MDJ 25-3-02.

Harassment

LOCK HAVEN — On Nov. 13, at approximately 11:54 p.m., state police at Lamar responded to a location on Woods Avenue in Flemington Borough for a report of harassment.

Police said an unnamed 30 year old female, of Lock Haven, and an unnamed 25 year old male, also of Lock Haven, are involved in the report.

A citation was filed through MDJ 25-3-01.

Crash

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar reported a crash that occurred on Nov. 13 at approximately 7:06 a.m. in the parking lot of the Flying J on Nittany Valley Drive.

According to police, an unlisted driver of a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia was parked when it was struck by an unknown individual in an unknown vehicle causing minor damage; the driver continued to travel in an unknown direction.

Disorderly conduct

RENOVO — Renovo police have charged Carl Day, II, 37, and Gretchen Getz, 48, both of Renovo, with disorderly conduct stemming from an incident on Nov. 15, at approximately 3:30 p.m., in the area of 4th Street and Ontario Ave. in Renovo.

Police said Day and Getz engaged in a verbal altercation outside, which then became physical between the two.

Day and Getz will be sent a summons through District Court 25-3-03, police said.

Tampering with/fabricating physical evidence

RENOVO — Renovo police charged Billy Yednak, 51, of Renovo, stemming from an incident that occurred on Nov. 15, around 2:50 p.m., in the area of 4th Street and Erie Avenue in Renovo.

According to police, Yednak was near the scene of a motor vehicle crash that just occurred, though Yednak had no involvement with the crash.

Police said Yednak removed a bottle of vodka from the crashed vehicle and carried it away in an attempt to hide it and obstruct the investigation.

The bottle was recovered when police confronted Yednak, police said.

Yednek will be sent a criminal summons to appear before the Clinton County Courts.
