No injuries reported at second alarm carport fire

There were no injuries or deaths reported in regards to a 2nd alarm fire which broke out in the afternoon on Dec. 12. Initial reports from authorities indicated the car port at 231 Elk Lane in Dunnstable Township was fully engulfed in flames, made particularly challenging to combat due to the cold temperatures. Command quickly escalated the situation to a 2nd alarm fire, leading to the shutdown of Big Plum Run Road for a time, deciding to hold the tower trucks on Big Plum Run Road. Despite the fire being successfully extinguished and the best efforts of the firefighters involved, the car port was a complete loss. The following stations responded to the incident: 12, 6, 42, 5, 17, 8, 7, 9, 10, 11, 29, 3, DESDO LYCO 45, and 94.
