PLEASANT GAP -- Miguel Uribe, 27, of Bellefonte, was taken into custody on a felony warrant on Jan. 16 in Logan Township, Blair County, after pursuits in both Logan and Benner townships, according to state police at Rockview.
On Dec. 20, 2024, PSP Rockview conducted a traffic stop on Interstate-99 North in Benner Township, where the operator of the vehicle was identified as Miguel Uribe.
During the stop, Uribe was asked to exit the vehicle for a suspended license at which point he allegedly fled the stop at a high rate of speed, police said.
Due to the road conditions, the vehicle pursuit was terminated and a felony arrest warrant was obtained for Uribe.
On Jan. 11, PSP learned that Uribe was involved in another pursuit with the Logan Township Police Department and that a second warrant was obtained for his arrest.
On Jan. 16 at 1:15 p.m., Uribe was taken into custody at the Rodeway Inn in Logan Township. Following the arrest, a search warrant was obtained to search Uribe's room, which yielded approximately 1/2 pound of marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, 24 packs of Suboxone and packaging material consistent with distributing drugs, according to state police.
Uribe was charged with possession with intent to deliver and arraigned on both fleeing arrest and eluding charges in Centre and Blair Counties.
Following his arrest, information was obtained that Uribe threw a gun from the vehicle during the pursuit on Dec. 20 in Benner Township. A PSP Explosives Canine was utilized to conduct a search of the area where Uribe allegedly threw the firearm. During the search, a loaded 9mm pistol was recovered, which police said they believe was stolen.
