Head on collision

FLEMINGTON -- No injuries were reported in a head-on collision along Woods Avenue, Flemington Borough, on Dec. 21, 2024, state police at Lamar said.

At 11:59 a.m., Sandra J. Yost, 82, of Lock Haven, was traveling west on the roadway when her 2021 Subaru Outback drifted into the opposite lane of travel, where it struck a 2011 Chrysler 200, driven by David R. Garverick, 71, of Mill Hall, police said.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, which caused disabling damage to both vehicles, police said.

Yost was cited in relation to driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said.

Police were assisted on scene by Lock Haven Fire Department and EMS.

Ice causes crash

LOGANTON -- Neither the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox nor their passenger were injured after hitting a patch of ice along Long Run Road, Greene Township, on Dec. 20, 2024, state police at Lamar said.

A 17-year-old Stroudsburg female was traveling along the roadway with her passenger, Levi R. Galentine, 18, of Loganton, when the vehicle struck a patch of ice causing it to travel across the white fog line and hit an embankment, police said.

The vehicle rode the embankment for about 15 feet before turning on its driver's side, police said.

The vehicle suffered disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Tressler's Towing, police said.

Police were assisted on the scene by Sugar Valley EMS and Fire Department and Lock Haven EMS.

One vehicle crash

LAMAR -- The driver of a 2010 Kia Forte was not injured following a one vehicle crash along Nittany Valley Drive, Porter Township, on Dec. 22, 2024, state police at Lamar said.

At 7:01 a.m., Maggie L. Houser, 23, of Lamar, was traveling north on the roadway when the vehicle began to lose control and exit the east berm, police said.

The vehicle struck a guide rail on the driver's side before rotating counter clockwise and striking a pole with the driver's side front corner, rotating again and striking a tree with the rear of the vehicle, police said.

Houser was cited in relation to driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, police said.

14 packages of marijuana found

LAMAR -- A 25-year-old Warren, Mich., man was charged with drug possession after 14 packages of suspected marijuana were found in his 2024 Jeep during a traffic stop along Interstate 80 East in Porter Township on Nov. 22, 2024, state police at Lamar said.

The traffic stop occurred at 10:45 a.m. when police observed Title 75 violations, police said.

During the traffic stop, numerous criminal activity was observed. During a consent search, 14 packages of marijuana were found, police said.

Charges were filed through District Judge Heidi Wright's office, police said.

Minor injuries in crash

LOGANTON -- The driver of a 2024 Freightliner Cascadea suffered suspected minor injuries following a one vehicle crash along Interstate 80 East, Greene Township, on Dec. 11, 2024, state police at Lamar said.

Leshawn D. Carpenter, II, 52, of Darby, Pa., was traveling in the right lane when he lost control of the vehicle, veering left and crossing into the left lane, police said.

The vehicle continued south, leaving the road and striking a raised median before traveling another 80 yards and overturning, police said.

Carpenter was wearing his seatbelt but was transported to UPMC Lock Haven by Goodwill Hose EMS for minor injuries, police said.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage as a result of the crash.
