Theft
SNOW SHOE -- On Dec. 3, 2024, state police at Rockview responded to a call of an unauthorized withdrawal from a 73-year-old Snow Shoe man's account.
At this time, there are no leads in the case, police said.

Single vehicle accident
JACKSONVILLE -- On the afternoon of Dec. 19, 2024, Charles Cherico, 64, of Billercia, Mass., crashed a 2019 Freightliner while travelling westbound on Interstate-80 in Marion Township, according to state police at Rockview.
For an unknown reason, Cherico traveled off the left shoulder, striking an embankment and several trees with the front end of his truck, police said.
Cherico was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
Two vehicle accident
JACKSONVILLE -- On the afternoon of Jan. 3, while travelling eastbound on Interstate-80 in Marion Township John Riley, 34, of Redmond, Wash., lost control of his 2019 Ford Expedition because of snow on the roadway while passing Fred Phillips, 29, of Fairfield, Ohio, in his 2025 Chevrolet Malibu, according to state police at Rockview.
Attempting to avoid Riley who lost control in front of him, Phillips travelled off the roadway to the right, striking the embankment before travelling down it, through the trees. Riley's vehicle also travelled down the embankment, striking several trees, where the vehicle lost its driver side and passenger side doors, police said.
Phillips had suspected minor injuries and Riley was charged with driving at an unsafe speed, according to state police.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
DUI
MILESBURG -- Jose Osorio-Garcia, 36, of Akron, Ohio, was arrested for driving under the influence in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, was arraigned and released on Jan. 1 following a traffic stop on Interstate-80 in Boggs Township, according to state police at Rockview.
Fatal crash
SPRING MILLS -- Elizabeth Potalivo, 36, from Spring Mills, was transported by MedEvac helicopter to UPMC Williamsport for treatment on Jan. 9 at 5:40 p.m. after a high-speed crash on Penns Valley Pike in Potter Township, according to state police at Rockview.
Traveling in a 2013 Nissan Rogue, the Potalivo crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic before leaving the left-hand side of the road where she struck a cattle fence before continuing through the field, police said.
The vehicle became airborne, travelling approximately 120 feet before striking the ground with the front end and rolling several times.
Potalivo, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle through an unknown window, sustaining numerous substantial injuries, according to state police. She was airlifted to UPMC Williamsport where she died from her injuries on Jan. 10, 2025.
Police were assisted on scene by Penns Valley EMS, Centre Hall Fire Company and a towing company.
One vehicle crash
CASTANEA -- No injuries were reported in a one vehicle crash along state Route 220 South near mile marker 111 in Castanea Township on Jan. 3, state police at Lamar said.
At 6:19 p.m., Thomas M. Styer, 18, of Muncy, and his passenger, Zaden L. Hummel, 18, of Montoursville, were traveling in the right lane when his 2005 Ford Mustang entered the left lane and proceeded onto the shoulder, police said.
The vehicle struck a guide rail at its front before spinning counterclockwise and hitting the guide rail again on its 3 o'clock position, police said.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Martin Motors, police said.
Land dispute
BEECH CREEK -- Charges are pending against a 46-year-old Beech Creek man regarding reckless endangerment after state police at Lamar received reports of an incident along Maple Avenue in Beech Creek Borough on Dec. 31, 2024.
According to police, a landowner and hunter dispute took place between the man and a 38-year-old Pleasant Gap woman at about 1:26 p.m.
Icy road leads to crash
MILL HALL -- The driver of a 2016 Ram 1500 and his three passengers were not injured after ice caused a one-vehicle crash along Eagle Valley Road in Bald Eagle Township on Jan. 3, state police at Lamar said.
At 6:46 p.m., Natanael Velasquez Tecum, 20, of Orange, N.J., and his passengers -- Rolgelio Velasquez Tecum, 20, Jairo Everildo, 40, and Carlos Mejia Cipriana, 25, all of Orange, N.J. -- were traveling along the roadway when the vehicle began sliding on the ice covered road, police said.
The vehicle exited the south bound lane and traveled into a ditch, striking a covered culvert pipe, police said.
Police were assisted on the scene by Martin Motors, Mill Hall Fire Company and PennDOT, police said.
Indecent assault
AVIS -- State police at Lamar are currently investigating an alleged incident of indecent assault that reportedly took place between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2024 in Avis Borough.
Threats/Harassment
LOCK HAVEN -- Woodward Township Police are investigating the report of a female juvenile receiving threatening and harassing messages and texts. The investigation is continuing.
$3,000 stolen from safe
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar are currently investigating a $3,000 theft from a business along Hogan Boulevard, Bald Eagle Township.
Between 1 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 9, an unknown suspect broke into The Kar Lot, located at 131 Hogan Blvd., and took a safe containing about $3,000, police said.
