Theft of funds

GROVE PARK -- On Jan. 13, a 33-year-old Bellefonte woman reported that an online seller advertising a crossbow failed to ship the merchandise after receiving $800 from her via Cash App, according to state police at Rockview.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call PSP Rockview at 814-355-7545.

Single-vehicle accident

SPRING MILLS -- On Feb. 15 at 8:07 p.m., Wyatt A. Daub, 24, of Centre Hall, allegedly lost control of his vehicle after hitting ice on Brush Valley Road in Gregg Township, according to state police at Rockview.

His 2007 Ford Ranger crossed into the westbound lane before leaving the roadway and striking an embankment with its front end and undercarriage, causing disabling damage, police said.

Daub was uninjured.

Crash due to unsafe speed

BELLEFONTE -- On Feb. 5, Leslie A. Bumbarger, 41, of Bellefonte, allegedly struck an embankment and a tree after failing to negotiate a curve on Valentine Hill Road, Spring Township, according to state police at Rockview.

Bumbarger, who was charged with driving at an unsafe speed, was uninjured, but the 2018 Subaru WRX she was operating sustained disabling damage, police said.

Rollover crash

JACKSONVILLE -- On Feb. 6, Weiwei Yuyang, 36, of Staten Island, N.Y., rolled his 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee after leaving the roadway on Interstate 80, according to state police at Rockview.

Yuyang, who was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, was uninjured but had his vehicle towed, police said.

Murder threat

MILESBURG -- Jordan Hillard, 29, of Howard, was taken into custody for making terroristic threats after allegedly threatening to kill a 36-year-old Howard woman on Neffs Road in Boggs Township on Jan. 31 around 2 a.m., according to state police at Rockview.

Unauthorized ATM withdrawal

SPRING MILLS -- A 43-year-old Spring Mills woman reported to PSP Rockview on Feb. 3 that $362 was withdrawn from her bank account using her ATM card without authorization, according to state police at Rockview.

Phone scam theft

ZION -- On Jan. 23, a 56-year-old Bellefonte man reported that $998 had been stolen from him as a result of a phone scam, according to state police at Rockview.

$11,000 stolen in scam

MILESBURG -- On March 12, a 70-year-old Milesburg woman reported to PSP Rockview that she had been the victim of a scam in which she sent approximately $11,000 to an individual she believed to be her companion, according to state police at Rockview.

Over the past two to three years, the woman had also sent thousands of dollars in gift cards and checks, police said.

Warrant arrest

CENTRE HALL -- On March 13, Amber Keith, 34, of Centre Hall, was taken into custody on a warrant on the 200 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue in the borough of Centre Hall, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said THC wax, outside of its prescribed container, was left in plain view, prompting a search of the residence with the occupant's permission. Allegedly, a small amount of THC wax was located, and the owner took possession of it, police said.

$30,000 stolen in check fraud

BLANCHARD -- Between Feb. 3 and March 7, $30,255.49 was allegedly withdrawn from a 55-year-old Howard man's bank account after an actor wrote a check to himself using the victim's checking information, according to state police at Rockview.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
