LH woman, juvenile charged in attack on pregnant woman

LOCK HAVEN -- A 21-year-old Lock Haven woman and 15-year-old female juvenile were charged recently in relation to a physical attack on a 19-year-old pregnant woman in the city.

According to a release from District Attorney Dave Strouse's office via Crimewatch, Hailey Gillott, of East Bald Eagle Street, Lock Haven, and an unnamed 15-year-old juvenile are alleged to have physically assaulted the woman in the playground area of Hoberman Park in Lock Haven.

Police allege that the attack was captured by a third female who video recorded the incident on a cell phone, the release said.

Police allege Gillott and the juvenile knocked the woman to the ground and proceeded to kick and punch the victim repeatedly in the head and abdomen area.

According to the release, police also allege the attackers were aware that the victim was pregnant during the time of the attack.

The victim required medical attention following the incident, the release said.

Gillott was charged with aggravated assault on an unborn child, a first degree felony; aggravated assault, a first degree felony; terroristic threats, a first degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second degree misdemeanor and disorderly conduct, a third degree misdemeanor.

Gillott was in Clinton County Central Court on Monday, April 7, and waived her preliminary hearing, the release said. She remains incarcerated at the Clinton County Correctional Facility after being unable to post $100,000 bail.

Charges were also filed against the 15-year-old in the county's Juvenile Division.
