LOCK HAVEN – One person was killed and two others were injured in a violent two-vehicle crash on Route 220, about a mile south of here, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, state police and other emergency responders confirmed.

Killed in the crash was Evan Geisewite, 29, of Loganton, who was in a Mazda CX-5 driven by his wife, Amanda Geisewite, 28, police said.

The other vehicle, a Chevrolet Malibu, was driven by Dwight Meyer, 29, of Lock Haven, police said.

It was determined that Meyer was traveling south in the northbound lane, Trooper Lauren Lesher, a state police spokeswoman, said.

Two helicopters were dispatched to the scene and landed on the highway, but only one was used to fly one of the victims to a trauma center.

It was believed that Evan Geisewite was pronounced dead at UPMC Lock Haven. His wife and Meyer were hospitalized with injuries. Police said all three victims were trapped in their vehicles.

Debris from the crash covered both north and southbound lanes. The northbound lane was shut down for a considerable amount of time while fire police were able to keep open one southbound lane, fire officials said.

Firefighters from Castanea, Lock Haven, Mill Hall and Dunnstown all responded to the crash.
