Feds indict LH man awaiting trial on state child sex abuse charges

WILLIAMSPORT — A man awaiting trial in Clinton County on child sexual abuse charges has been indicted in federal court on child pornography charges.

An indictment charging Michael Adam Meyer, 28, of Lock Haven, with receipt and possession of child pornography was unsealed Tuesday in U.S. Middle District Court.

Meyer is charged in Clinton County with two counts of child sexual abuse and one count of criminal use of a communications device.

One of the abuse counts alleges he possessed a video of a prepubescent female engaged in a sex act with an animal. The other accuses him of possessing photographs of a partially nude female under the age of 17.

The federal charges accuse him of receiving child pornography last October and possessing it on Jan. 6. The possession count states the visual depictions were of minors under the age of 12.

The affidavit on the state charges states the videos and pictures were discovered following the seizure of Meyer’s phone during the execution of a search warrant by state police on Jan. 6 in Greene Township in eastern Clinton County.

Meyer admitted when interviewed by state police he had viewed child sexual abuse material since 2023 and had used Bitcoin to purchase files through the Telegram application, the state police arrest affidavit states.

He has been free on $75,000 bail on the state charges. His federal court arraignment is scheduled for Monday.

Starting at $3.69/week.
