Bail denied for LH man accused of repeated rape of young boy

BELLEFONTE — A 39-year-old Lock Haven man is behind bars in Centre County, with bail denied, after a lengthy investigation into allegations of repeated rape of a young boy for several years.

WJAC reported that Michael Oglesby is accused of molesting the victim at residences in both Centre and Clinton counties, starting when the boy was between 8 or 9 years old.

According to an affidavit, police allege the victim recalled at least 13 incidents of alleged sexual abuse which continued until he was 10 or 11 years old.

On multiple occasions, investigators say Oglesby is accused of “bribing” the victim after the abuse, which reportedly included giving him money and cigarettes, WJAC reported.

Police also allege Oglesby showed the victim pornography and would force him to “mimic” sexual acts.

According to WJAC, authorities later learned that the victim’s mother had confronted Oglesby about the allegations, which he reportedly denied.

Online records show Oglesby was arraigned on Friday for a variety of charges that include multiple counts of child rape and involuntary deviated sexual intercourse with a child.

He was denied bail and remains in the Centre County Correctional Facility.

Starting at $3.69/week.
