Unauthorized use
RAUCHTOWN -- On July 31, state police at Lamar were called to a Davidson Road address in Crawford Township to investigate an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle complaint. Through the police investigation, it was learned that a known individual took a tan 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier without the owner's permission.
Police said the victim was a 42-year-old Jersey Shore female.
Police also said that charges were filed for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle through District Judge Keith Kibbler's office against a 43-year-old Jersey Shore man.
Two vehicle accident
LAMAR -- On July 29, state police at Lamar were called to the intersection of Nittany Valley Drive and Spring Run Road in Porter Township for a two vehicle accident.
Police said Matthew Stackhouse, 53, of Jersey Shore, was traveling southbound in a 2018 Ford F150 on Nittany Valley Drive and made a legal left turn onto Spring Run Road. After making the turn, a 2013 Dodge Avenger driven by Amber Frantz, 38, of Loganton, traveled over the fog line and struck the other vehicle.
Police said Frantz's vehicle struck the end of a guardrail and became inoperable. Tressler's Garage provided towing services.
Police said there were no injuries in the mishap and Frantz was cited for her role in the accident.
Too fast for conditions
RAUCHTOWN -- State police at Lamar investigated a traffic accident on July 27 at 9:24 a.m. at 2388 Rauchtown Road in Crawford Township.
Police said the crash happened as Jason Denobrega, 37, of Glen Cove, N.Y., was operating a 2011 BMW M3 traveling south on Rauchtown Road in the right lane and was traveling too fast for conditions while negotiating a left curve in the roadway, causing him to lose control.
Police said the BMW crossed the center yellow lines before striking the northbound guide rail before coming to a final rest.
Police said Denobrega was not injured, but was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
DUI arrest
MILL HALL -- On July 18, at approximately 3:13 a.m., state police at Lamar were called to 288 Hogan Blvd., for the report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a 2020 black Ford Escape.
On scene, troopers observed several indicators that the driver, a 26-year-old male, of Lock Haven, was impaired.
Police said the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of DUI.
Charges are pending the results of a lab report.
Shoplifting
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar were called to the Weis Market at 6 Millbrook Plaza in Bald Eagle Township on July 18 for the report of a retail theft that had occurred.
Police said the items stolen included Weis brand water, an 18 count of Propel, donuts, cantaloupe, honey dew, a shoulder steak, John Soules chicken and Swift ground beef, all valued at approximately $90.
Police are continuing their investigation.
