Due to safety concerns, that included multiple flare ups at the site of a house fire on Monday morning, South Renovo officials had Smith Lumber and Excavation on scene to raze the remains of 152 Susquehanna Avenue in the borough. The fire took place just before 8 a.m. on Monday morning. It was fully engulfed as crews arrived on scene. Companies throughout the county as well as Kettle Creek Hose Company of Potter County responded to the scene and successfully contained the fire to the one vacant home. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Demolition of the remains began about 48 hours after the initial call.
