Failure to yield
LOCK HAVEN — State police at Lamar responded to a two vehicle crash on Dec. 16 around 7:44 a.m. along Cider Press Road and Julia Drive.
A 2012 Ford Explorer, driven by Ronald Dorce, 36, of Lock Haven, failed to yield to oncoming traffic and pulled out in front of a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Chase D. Beard, 19, of Lock Haven, police said.
Beard was unable to avoid hitting Dorce’s vehicle, causing minor damage to the Explorer, police said.
No injuries were reported at the scene and Beard’s vehicle was towed by Jim Johnson Auto Repair, police said.
Tractor accident
LOGANTON — Tyler J. Burkey, 27, of Ridgway, driving a 2003 International Harvester 9900IX, was traveling West on I-80 near mile marker 187.6 when he left the roadway and continued down a small embankment, according to state police at Lamar.
After leaving the roadway, a trailing unit was detached from the tractor, police said.
The tractor struck a tree causing disabling damage to the vehicle, police said.
Struck utility pole
CENTRE HALL — Edwin Besecker, 88, of Millheim, was charged in relation to driving on roadways laned for traffic following a crash at 1:56 p.m. Dec. 30 on Earlystown Road, just before its junction with Tusseyville Road, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said Besecker crossed the yellow dashed line while operating a 2021 Kia Seltos and struck a utility pole.

LAMAR — On Dec. 18, at approximately 7:37 p.m., a two vehicle crash occurred eastbound on I-80 at the 175.4 mile marker, according to state police at Lamar.
The crash occurred as a 2023 Toyota GR 86, driven by Vittorio Mena, 65, of Ridgefield, N.J., was passing a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia 126, driven by Presguess A. Porter, 23, of New Orleans, La.. in the left lane, police said.
Mena lost control of the vehicle and began to hydroplane, entering the right lane of travel in front of Porter, police said.
Porter was unable to avoid striking Mena who then spun uncontrollably off the roadway, striking the guide rail multiple times, police said.
Porter was able to safely pull off I-80 and the GR86 was towed from the scene by Tresslers, according to police.
The passenger of the GR86 was transported to UPMC Lock Haven for a suspected minor injury, police said.
Personal theft
MILL HALL — On Dec. 8, state police at Lamar responded to a residence on First Street, Renovo, for a theft investigation.
Rachael Winkelman, 26, of Renovo, allegedly claimed that a suspect, who is known to her, took her cell phone from her and either kept it or destroyed it, police said.
The actual incident took place on Mount Riansares Road in Lamar Township, police said.
The incident is currently under investigation, police said.
Retail theft
MILL HALL — A theft occurred at Walmart, 167 Hogan Blvd., on Dec. 3, as Patty Bowes, 80, of Howard, attempted to avoid paying the full retail price of eight items totaling $68.21, according to state police at Lamar.
Charges were filed through MDJ 25-3-02, police said.
Theft
BEECH CREEK — State police at Lamar are investigating a theft that occurred on Wynn Avenue in Beech Creek between April 17, 2024 and Dec. 1, 2025.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Child welfare
endangerment
BEECH CREEK — On Nov. 25, PSP Lamar responded to a residence in Beech Creek for a report of a 7-year-old child who had ingested THC gummies, police said.
PSP is investigating the incident.
