Vehicle crashes in snowy

conditions

MILL HALL — The driver of a 2024 Hyundai Tucson admitted to drinking alcohol before a one vehicle crash along a snowy Nittany Valley Drive in Porter Township on Jan. 18, state police at Lamar said.

According to police, at 3:32 a.m., Xavier M. Claiborne, 24, of Williamsport and his passenger, Reginald L. Joinder, 23, also of Williamsport was traveling east in the 6700 block of the snow covered roadway when, due to traveling too fast for conditions, Claiborne lost control of the vehicle and veered into the west bound lane, police said.

The vehicle struck a mailbox and flowerbed before rolling onto its roof and continuing east into a driveway, police said.

Claiborne admitted to police of drinking alcohol earlier in the day, police said.

Claiborne suffered suspected minor injuries, though he and his passenger, who did not have injuries, were wearing their seatbelts, police said. Both men were able to climb out of the vehicle following the crash, police said.

Claiborne was taken to the hospital for a chemical blood test, with possible charges pending the result, police said.

Retail theft

MILL HALL — A 28-year-old Williamsport man was cited for retail theft after an incident that occurred on Nov. 6, 2025, at 9:07 a.m., state police at Lamar said.

Police were called to Walmart along Hogan Boulevard for reports of theft.

At the scene, it was discovered the man had stolen a Kellogg’s Krave chocolate cereal, valued at $6.86 and women’s boots with an elevated heel, valued at $27.98, by scanning a barcode from another piece of merchandise that was of lesser value, police said.

The man was issued a non-traffic citation related to both thefts, police said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Domestic incident call leads to false report

MILL HALL — Two 18-year-olds are facing charges after reportedly lying about an alleged domestic incident in Lamar Township, state police at Lamar said.

On Dec. 24, 2025, at 12:39 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence along Long Run Road for reports of an active domestic. While enroute, it was reported the alleged actor, a 52-year-old Mill Hall man, was in possession of a firearm and making threats, police said.

On the scene, the alleged actor was detained briefly while troopers reviewed footage of the incident. Through this investigation it was determined Taleia Kitner, of Mill Hall, and Alex Sycz, of Williamsport, were the aggressors, police said.

Kitner is accused of making false statements to dispatch, reporting a firearm, with no weapon present during the incident, police said.

Kitner is further accused of striking the man multiple times and throwing him to the ground, police said.

Sycz was accused of kicking the victim while on the ground, police said.

Kitner was charged with false alarm, false reports, disorderly conduct and harassment and Sycz was charged with harassment, police said.

All charges were filed through District Judge Heidi Wright’s office.

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar are investigating an incident of harassment involving an 11-year-old victim.

According to police, reports of harassment were reported via Child Line on Jan. 23.

Indecent assault investigation
