County man sentenced to 7.5 years in federal prison on child porn charges
WILLIAMSPORT — A Clinton County man has been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release in a child pornography case.
Michael Adam Meyer, 28, was sentenced Friday by U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann on a charge of receipt of child pornography to which he had pleaded guilty in October.
Meyer told the judge he turned to pornography and used drugs after he lost his job and a relationship. He said he rationalized his conduct by saying he was not hurting anyone.
He now realizes he was supporting an industry that preys on young children, he said.
Brann noted during a Jan. 6, 2025, search of Meyer’s residence in Loganton 1,550 images and 1,582 videos of child pornography were discovered.
It was brought out at his guilty plea that an FBI investigation revealed Meyer had received child pornographic material for three years beginning in November 2021.
The charge to which he pleaded guilty carried a five-year mandatory minimum sentence.
Meyer was ordered to pay $3,000 to each of the 30 victims who were identified in the videos and requested restitution.
While on supervised release he may not have direct contact with anyone under the age of 18 without permission from his probation officer.
He also must participate in sex offender treatment program and permit the installation of monitoring software on his computer.
