Storage unit theft
MILESBURG — Police responded Feb. 16 to a reported theft from a storage unit on Pleasantview Boulevard in Boggs Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Rockview.
The unit’s owners — a 37-year-old man from Bellefonte and a 59-year-old woman from Pleasant Gap — told police that several items were taken from the unit between Dec. 25, 2025, and Feb. 16, 2026.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Indecent assault investigation
RENOVO — State police at Lamar are currently investigating reports of an indecent assault that occurred between Jan. 1, 2012 and Dec. 31, 2013, involving a 7-year-old victim, police said.
Investigation into harassment
LOGANTON — State police at Lamar are investigating a physical altercation which occurred between two students at Sugar Valley Rural Charter School on Feb. 9.
Police were called to East Main Street, Loganton Borough, for the reports at about 2 p.m.
Accident while passing
MILESBURG — A 51-year-old Flushing, N.Y., man collided with a tractor-trailer while attempting to pass another vehicle on Interstate 80 in Boggs Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Rockview.
Police said Weisheng Wang was driving a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan when it struck the front end of a 2020 Freightliner in the 4:50 a.m. Jan. 5 crash.
The Tiguan sustained disabling damage, while the Freightliner had minor front-end damage. No injuries were reported and no charges were filed, police said.
Car down embankment
WOODWARD — Ted A. Haas, 84, of Northumberland, was charged Feb. 19 with driving on roadways laned for traffic after his 2005 Nissan X-Terra went down an embankment on Mountain Avenue near Pine Creek Alley in Haines Township, state police at Rockview said.
Haas sustained suspected serious injuries in the early morning crash and was transported to Geisinger by Penns Valley EMS.
Vehicle rollover
MILHEIM — Charges related to lane departure were withdrawn against Quentin D. Confer, 25, of Spring Mills, after he rolled his vehicle while swerving to avoid dogs in the roadway, state police at Rockview said.
Confer was driving on Paradise Road near Stover Hill Lane in Penn Township around 8:32 p.m. on Feb. 16 when two dogs exited a wooded area on the west side of the road. He swerved, crossing into the opposing lane, before the tires of his 1990 Ford F-150 XLT dug into gravel, causing the vehicle to turn sideways and roll over counterclockwise, police said.
Confer was uninjured, but the vehicle sustained disabling damage, police said.
Threats to medical
workers, patients
CENTRE HALL — Peter Dooley, 24, of Lancaster, was charged with making terroristic threats against patients and staff at The Meadows Psychiatric Center in Centre Hall between 9 and 11:22 p.m. on Feb. 29, state police at Rockview said.
