BEECH CREEK — Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 11:22 a.m. to the area of Wolf Road and Beech Creek Mountain Road for a reported vegetation fire.

Upon arrival, units encountered an active fire of undetermined size, with crews initiating suppression operations. Due to weather conditions and terrain, additional resources were requested to assist with containment efforts.

According to radio traffic, aerial support, including the potential use of an aircraft for water or retardant drops, was being considered to aid ground crews.

A second wildfire was also reported around 1 p.m., near North Hunter Run Road, Liberty Township.

As of Monday afternoon, crews were continuing to battle the fires. More information will be reported as it becomes available.
