JS woman accused of vehicle theft from client

JERSEY SHORE — A 21-year-old Jersey Shore woman is accused of reportedly using a client’s vehicle while employed by a home healthcare agency, Lycoming Regional Police said.

According to information released via Crimewatch, police received a report from the healthcare agency on June 2 of the vehicle being used by Erika Kennedy without being authorized to do so.

It was alleged Kennedy took the vehicle without the owner’s knowledge or permission, police said.

The investigating officer further discovered evidence indicating that Kennedy had taken the vehicle on multiple occasions, police said.

A felony arrest warrant was issued on June 15 and Kennedy subsequently surrendered to law enforcement, police said.

She was arraigned before District Judge Denise Deiter on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of automobile or other vehicle and abuse of care-dependent person, police said.

Bail was set at $25,000 and Kennedy was released pending future court proceedings, police said.
