DUI crash with injuries
leads to arrest
BEECH CREEK — A 21-year-old Howard man was arrested following a crash involving a vehicle versus horse and buggy on Main Street, Beech Creek Borough in early June, state police at Lamar said.
At 11:04 p.m. on June 7, Kaleb Matis, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S10 in the 100 block of Main Street when he was involved in a crash with a horse-drawn buggy, police said.
When police arrived on scene they found two passengers of the buggy — a 16-year-old Bellefonte Borough male and 18-year-old Beech Creek Borough woman — were ejected and suffered serious injuries. They were transported to UPMC Williamsport and Geisinger Medical Center for treatment.
Matis was uninjured and during the investigation officers noted indicators of impairment, police said.
Matis was taken into custody and transported to UPMC Lock Haven for a chemical blood test.
Charges are pending the results of the test.
There was not further information available for the condition of the individuals injured.
Child injured in electric
scooter accident
LAMAR — A 12-year-old Mill Hall boy was injured following an electric scooter-related crash along Ridge Road in Lamar Township on June 6, state police at Lamar said.
At 1:45 p.m., the boy was traveling on Ridge Road, just east of its intersection with Davy Road, and was attempting to negotiate a left curve in the roadway when another vehicle — believed to possibly be a brown Ford Explorer — was traveling the opposite direction in the same area, police said.
The scooter side-swiped the other vehicle, causing the boy to fall from the scooter, police said.
The other driver remained on the scene until a guardian arrived. The boy was later transported to UPMC Lock Haven to be evaluated for numerous minor injuries, which was reported to PSP Lamar, police said.
State police are asking for assistance in locating the second driver, who was described to officers as an older white female with glasses that may drive members of the Amish community, police said.

Police also remind the public that electric scooters are not permitted to be operated on public roadways.
Firearm theft
RENOVO — State police are currently investigating the theft of a firearm from a resident in Renovo Borough.
According to police, a 70-year-old Renovo man reported a 22. caliber pistol and 177 caliber BB gun were taken from a residence along Laurel Street between May 1, 2024 and May 26, 2026, police said.

Tool theft
UNIONVILLE — State police are investigating the theft of miscellaneous tools from a property on S. Eagle Valley Road in Union Township. According to state police at Rockview, a 64-year-old Julian man reported the tools were stolen sometime between Sept. 29, 2025, and June 1.
Domestic dispute
BLANCHARD — A 37-year-old Blanchard woman and a 38-year-old Tyrone man were cited for harassment following a domestic dispute on Liberty Street in Liberty Township. According to state police at Rockview, troopers responded to the incident on June 3 at 5:50 p.m.
Child seriously injured in four-vehicle crash
BLANCHARD — A 3-year-old child suffered serious suspected injuries in a four-vehicle crash on N. Eagle Valley Road at the intersection of Liberty Street in Liberty Township on June 3, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said the child’s safety seat was being used improperly at the time of the crash. The child was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for evaluation.
The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. when Bonita V. Dowlin, 73, of Lock Haven, operating a 2013 Nissan Frontier, struck the rear of a 2019 Subaru Impreza. The Subaru then entered the opposite lane of travel and collided with a 2012 BMW 535 Series, police said. A 2015 Ford F-150 XLT subsequently struck the BMW as it traveled between the Nissan and Subaru.
Three other people, including Dowlin, suffered suspected minor injuries. Dowlin was cited for following too closely, police said.
Failure to stop causes crash
MILLHEIM — A 71-year-old Aaronsburg man was charged with failure to stop at a red light following a crash at the intersection of W. Main and Penn streets in Millheim Borough on June 7, according to state police at Rockview.
Police said Delmer S. Homan failed to stop for a red light, causing the evening crash.
The other driver, a 28-year-old Loganton man, was not injured.
Gift card scam
BELLEFONTE — A 20-year-old Bellefonte man reportedly lost $1,200 in a gift card scam, according to state police at Rockview.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police said troopers were notified of the alleged theft in Benner Township on June 5 just before 4 p.m.
Found security monitor
MILESBURG — State police at Rockview are seeking the owner of an ADT security monitor found June 9 at about 2 p.m. near the intersection of Route 220 and Interstate 80 in Boggs Township.
Anyone with information about the owner is asked to contact state police at Rockview at 814-355-7545.
Dog law violation
SPRING MILLS — Charges are pending against a 37-year-old Spring Mills woman in connection with an alleged dog law violation on Bitner Hollow Road in Gregg Township.
According to state police at Rockview, the incident, which impacted a 63-year-old State College woman, occurred during the evening hours of June 9.
Physical altercation
HYNER — State police at Lamar responded to an address along the Renovo Road, Chapman Township for an altercation in which one adult took the glasses off another adult’s face and threw them, police said.
Charges have been filed against a 40-year-old Renovo man for the incident that occurred on May 5 around 4:45 p.m., according to state police at Lamar.
Physical harassment
LAMAR — State police at Lamar were dispatched to an address along Locust Street, Porter Township, for a report of a domestic on May 10 at approximately 9:20 a.m., police said.
Through investigation, it was determined that the arrestee, a 35-year-old Mill Hall man, shoved a 33-year-old woman’s head back using his wrist/forearm, according to state police at Lamar.
Deer causes accident
MILL HALL — A crash occurred in the 700 block of Renovo Road, as Camila P Greene, 19, of Elverson, was traveling eastbound when a deer ran into the roadway, striking the vehicle at the 10 o’clock position, according to state police at Lamar.
The vehicle, a 2025 Jeep Wrangler, sustained minor damage and Greene was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Jersey Shore with a suspected minor injury, police said.
