Theft by deception

MILL HALL — On May 4 and 5, a 58-year-old Mill Hall woman was charged $1,320 for merchandise she never received, according to state police at Lamar.

The investigation is ongoing.

DUI hit and run

MILL HALL — A crash occurred on May 16 at approximately 3 a.m. as a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Evan R. Wells, 22, of Lock Haven, was traveling West on Plunket Run Road, Mill Hall, at a high rate speed while intoxicated, according to state police at Lamar.

The vehicle exited the right side of the roadway, striking two utility poles before coming to a final rest. Fox fled the scene, police said.

There were possible injuries as a result of the crash, police said.

Theft

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar responded to a report of a theft that occurred on May 14 at approximately 2:15 p.m., at the Quality Inn.

Further investigation revealed money was stolen from the cash register, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Argument turns physical

RENOVO — On May 17, at approximately 4:30 p.m., state police at Lamar responded to a report of harassment that occurred at a residence along Champlain Avenue in Renovo.

Through investigation, it was determined that an argument had occurred between a 17-year-old male and a 38-year-old male, both of Renovo, had turned physical, police said.

The 17-year-old was charged with harassment/physical contact, police said.

DUI

SALONA — On May 16, at approximately 12:14 a.m., state police at Lamar investigated a non-reportable crash on SR 220 at mile marker 106.9 in Lamar Township.

During the investigation, it was determined the operator, a 17-year-old Mill Hall female, was under the influence of alcoholic beverages, police said.

Theft of property

MILL HALL — Between October 2025 and March 2026, a cell phone was stolen from Avery Dennison Chemical Div., and used to make international calls by an unknown individual, according to state police at Lamar.

Three car accident

MILL HALL — A crash occurred on May 17 at approximately 4:50 p.m., at the intersection near 281 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, as a 2016 Subaru Legacy, driven by a 17-year-old Mill Hall female, was traveling west along the road and ran a red light, according to state police at Lamar.

Jessica L. Cummings, 36, of Lock Haven, driving a 2018 Hyundai Sonata, was traveling north through the intersection and Troy E. Brooks, 42, of Renovo, driving a 2018 Ram 2500, was traveling south through the intersection at the time of the accident, police said.

The initial impact occurred as the Subaru hit Cummings’ front end and the second impact occurred as the Subaru hit Brooks’ front end, police said.

All units sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene, according to police.

Cummings was transported by EMS for a sustained minor injury, police said.

Commercial vehicle accident

LAMAR — On May 11 at approximately 8:45 a.m., state police at Lamar responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred on I-80 near Mile Marker 173.8.

Abdeljalil Maamry, 60, of Louisville, Ky., allegedly ran over a strap in the roadway that spun itself into the axle, disabling the 2010 International Harvester MA025 along the right shoulder, police said.

Lepharoh J Merriouns, 27, of Nashville, Tenn., was allegedly not paying attention and struck Maamry’s trailer with the passenger side of his 2025 Peterbilt 579, police said.

Following the impact, Merriouns traveled a short distance before safely pulling off on the right shoulder, losing almost all the load being carried which consisted of clothing from Temu, police said.

No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed by Eagle Towing and Recovery.
