Injuries involved in two-vehicle crash
LOGANTON -- Multiple people involved in a two-vehicle crash along West Winter Road in Greene Township suffered suspected injuries of various degrees on July 7, state police at Lamar said.
At 8:38 a.m., Brian D. Baney, 50, of Northumberland, Pa., was traveling west on the roadway and attempting to turn his 2006 Kenworth W9 Series onto Bull Run Road when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic, striking a 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, driven by Danielle B. Lavalle, 42, of Loganton, in its 1 o'clock position, police said.
Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection following the crash, police said.
Baney was not injured but Lavalle suffered suspected minor injuries and one of her two passengers, an 8-year-old Loganton girl, suffered suspected serious injury, police said. Both were transported to Geisinger Medical Center by Goodwill Hose EMS.
Lavalle's second passenger, a 16-year-old Loganton boy, was not injured. All individuals were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, police said.
Baney was cited in relation to vehicles turning left as a result of the crash, police said.
Police were assisted on the scene by Bressler's Towing and West End Towing, police said.
Local business damaged
FLEMINGTON -- State police at Lamar charged a local woman with criminal mischief after damage was found at a business in Flemington on July 7.
According to police, at about 7:25 p.m., a window was damaged at the Thrifty Wash at 105 High St. The window was valued at $300, police said.
Through review of surveillance footage it was determined Brooke Wagner, 35, of Lock Haven, caused the damage to the window, police said.
Wagner was cited through District Judge Keith Kibbler's office.
Vehicle shears utility pole in crash
LAMAR -- The driver of a 2012 Audi Q7 was not injured following a one-vehicle crash along Narrows Road in Porter Township on July 8, state police at Lamar said.
At 7:04 p.m., Ryan M. Breon, 41, of Loganton, was traveling south on the roadway when his vehicle drove off the west shoulder, striking a utility pole and shearing it in half, police said.
The vehicle continued down an embankment before coming to rest in a creek, police said.
Breon was not injured and was cited in relation to driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said.
The vehicle suffered disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Eagle Towing and Recovery.
Two vehicle crash at intersection
RENOVO -- The driver of a 2025 Coleman B200R suffered suspected minor injuries after failing to yield to oncoming traffic at an intersection in Renovo on July 2, state police at Lamar said.
At 4:49 p.m., a 15-year-old Renovo boy was traveling on the B200R along 7th Street when it came to a stop at its intersection with Saint Clair Avenue, police said.
The teen, however, proceeded into the intersection without clearance and was struck by a 2025 Ford F250 Supercab, driven by Shane M. McKinley, 70, of Renovo, who was traveling on Saint Clair Avenue, police said.
The crash caused a tire on the teen's vehicle to deflate, with it coming to an uncontrolled and final stop, police said.
McKinley's vehicle came to a stop on the right curb of 7th Street, police said.
The teen suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Williamsport by Goodwill Hose EMS, police said.
Motorcyclist charged with
DUI following crash
LOGANTON -- A 28-year-old Milesburg man was cited for driving under the influence following a two vehicle crash along Narrows Road in Logan Township on June 28, state police at Lamar said.
According to police, the crash occurred at 4:26 p.m. and involved a 2002 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide, driven by Devon M. Keith, and a 2007 Honda CRV, driven by Ruthann M. Smoyer, 19, of Bellefonte.
Through an investigation it was determined alcohol was determined to be a factor in the crash, police said.
Keith was cited for DUI and other related summary traffic offenses as a result of the crash, police said. Carges were filed through District Judge Heidi Wright's office.
Deer leads to vehicle accident
AVIS -- The driver of a 2022 Honda Civic suffered suspected minor injuries after a deer entered her lane of travel along state Route 220 in Pine Creek Township on June 24, state police at Lamar said.
At 12:55 p.m., Erika L. Emahiser, 34, of Lock Haven, was traveling south in the right lane when a deer entered the lane and was struck, police said.
The impact caused disabling damage to the vehicle with Emahiser suffering injury to her knees due to air bag deployment, police said.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by Jim Johnson Towing.
Phone scam leads to $9,500 theft
DUNNSTABLE -- A 69-year-old woman was scammed out of almost $10,000 in Dunnstable Township, state police Lamar said.
According to police, officers responded to reports of the incident on June 17 at 12:37 p.m.
The victim reported she was tricked into mailing $9,500 in cash in a box to a drop off point in California, police said.
After the discovery of the scam, the package had already been delivered and picked up by an unknown suspect, police said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
