Loganton man charged
with retail theft
MILL HALL -- A 44-year-old Loganton man was cited for retail theft following an incident at Walmart along Hogan Boulevard, Bald Eagle Township, in July, state police at Lamar said.
According to police, Erik Quicksell is accused of not paying full retail value for a hot and ready-to-eat egg roll, valued at $2; Marketside sweet and sour sauce, valued at $0.84; and a Better Home and Gardens spotlight color lock, valued at $58, from the store between July 4 and July 10.
Quicksell was charged with retail theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property, police said.
Charges were filed through District Judge Heidi Wright's office.
Blanchard man cited for
criminal mischief
DUNNSTOWN -- Mason K. Berry, of Blanchard, was issued a citation for criminal mischief and trespass by a vehicle following an incident in the area of South Allegheny and Church streets in Woodward Township on July 22, Woodward Township Police said.
According to police, Berry allegedly drove through several lawns, causing damage that night.
Berry was cited for two counts of criminal mischief and one count of trespass by motor vehicle, police said.
Teen cited following crash
LOCK HAVEN -- A 16-year-old Lock Haven girl was cited following a one-vehicle crash along Coudersport Pike on Aug. 7, Woodward Township Police said.
At about 2:15 p.m., the teen was traveling in the area of Shirk Hollow Road when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and drove off the right side of the roadway, coming to rest on an embankment/field area, police said.
The teen was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured, police said.
The vehicle sustained minor damage and the teen was cited in relation to driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said.
Homeless man arrested for theft
DUNNSTOWN -- A homeless man was arrested and taken into custody after stealing multiple items from a truck along Woodward Avenue in Lock Haven on Aug. 2, Woodward Township Police said.
At about 10:46 p.m., Keith E. Chaplain, 50, was captured on video stealing about $70 in property from a victim's truck while it was parked at the Nittany Minit Mart, police said.
Chaplain was later located and arrested, with some property being recovered, police said.
Chaplain was arraigned before District Judge Keith Kibler and charged with theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. He was committed to the Clinton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail, police said.
According to police, this followed an arrest in July 2026, when the department charged Chaplain in two other separate theft incidents.
