LH woman charged with
trespass, theft by deception
RENOVO -- Renovo Borough Police arrested and charged Mandy Cook, 48, of Lock Haven, with criminal trespass and theft by deception following an incident along Huron Avenue in Renovo Borough.
According to police, on Aug. 8, Cook illegally obtained keys to an apartment in the 1000 block of Huron Avenue "through trickery and deceit" which she did not legally rent and had not fulfilled obligation to rent, police said.
Cook began moving property into the apartment when she had no authorization or privilege to, police said.
The owner of the property realized this was happening within hours of it occurring and called police, police said.
Officers responded to the call and were eventually able to get Cook and others to leave the property and recover the stolen key, police said.
Cook was charged through District Judge Frank Mills's office and released on $1,500 bail, police said.
Harassment charges filed
at Grange Fair
CENTRE HALL -- One woman was cited for harassment following an incident near the intersection of Hartle Street and South Hoffer Avenue in Centre Hall on Aug. 21, state police at Rockview said.
At 10:44 p.m., police were called to the area for reports of harassment involving Terri Smith, 59, of Pleasant Gap and a 37-year-old Centre Hall woman at the Grange Fair, police said.
Through the investigation it was determined Smith shoved the other woman at the time, police said.
Smith was cited for the incident.
