DUI
HYNER -- State police at Lamar initiated a traffic stop on a 2018 black Ram in Chapman Township on Aug. 5, at approximately 7:34 p.m., police said.
Through investigation, it was determined that the operator, a 30-year-old Renovo woman, was under the influence of alcohol, police said.
The operator was arrested for DUI and was transported to PSP Lamar for chemical testing, according to police.
This investigation is ongoing.
Vehicle hits down tree
MILL HALL -- On Aug. 6 at approximately 6:32 a.m., state police at Lamar responded to a one vehicle crash on Renovo Road near its intersection with Mill Run Trail, police said.
Sarah K. Kunes, 28, of Beech Creek, was driving a 2019 Dodge Durango and struck a fallen tree that was laying in the roadway, according to police.
Minor damage was sustained by the vehicle and it was towed from the scene, police said.
Verbal harassment
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar responded to an address along Keystone Central Drive for a report of a threat on Aug. 1, at approximately 12:42 p.m., police said.
Through investigation, it was determined that the arresttee, Dustin Major, 36, of Lock Haven, threatened the victim during a verbal argument, according to police.
Non animal cruelty dog law
MILL HALL -- On Aug. 1, at approximately 8:08 a.m., PSP Lamar responded to a location near South Chestnut Street for a report of two dogs running loose that belonged to Robert Devaul, 22, of Mill Hall, police said.
Through investigation, it was determined that the dogs killed two cats belonging to two separate citizens prior to being secured, according to police.
Hit and run
WOOLRICH -- A single vehicle crash occurred on Park Avenue on July 31, at approximately 2:22 a.m., after Mason R. Campbell, 26, of Lock Haven, was traveling north and veered to the right of the roadway before striking a PPL utility pole, according to state police at Lamar.
Campbell continued north for approximately 50 yards before the vehicle became disabled in the right lane of travel, police said.
Campbell left the scene prior to police arrival and the vehicle, a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, was towed by Bressler's Towing, police said.
Campbell was later identified and is facing several traffic violations, according to state police at Lamar.
MH woman cited for multiple retail thefts
MILL HALL -- A 62-year-old Mill Hall woman was cited for retail thefts involving a variety of incidents spanning from January to March of this year, according to state police at Lamar.
Police filed 10 separate reports for the incidents, in which Malinda McCloskey, was cited for retail theft through District Judge Heidi Wright's office for each.
Police accused McCloskey of the following thefts at Walmart along Hogan Boulevard in Mill Hall:
-- On Jan. 10 at 7:35 p.m., McCloskey allegedly stole a jar of Vlasic dill pickles, valued at $3.78, ground turkey, valued at $5.34, and ground beef, valued at $16.43.
-- On Jan. 14 at 7:57 p.m., McCloskey allegedly took ground turkey, valued at $5.34, Ghiradelli chocolates, valued at $14.97, Lindt Dubai chocolate, valued at $9.97, and Italian bread, valued at $3.31.
-- On Jan. 15 at 3:33 p.m., McCloskey is accused of taking Valentine brownies, valued at $3.16, Oscar Mayer hotdogs, valued at $3.28, and Reese's peanut butter cups, valued at $5.97. Later that day, at 5:50 p.m., McCloskey allegedly took chicken breasts, valued at $6.89 and a Main Stay fleece throw blanket, valued at $8.44.
-- On Jan. 21 at 6:24 p.m., McCloskey allegedly stole chocolate milk, valued at $3.87, and Ritz sour cream and onion chips, valued at $3.74.
-- On Jan. 22 at 4:09 p.m, police allege McCloskey took a Stouffer's lasagna, valued at $9.84. Later that day, at 5:19 p.m., McCloskey allegedly stole a gallon of whole milk, valued at $4.56. She is also accused of stealing Cheez Whiz dip, valued at $4.96, and a 40-count box of Great Value 13-gallon trash bags, valued at $6.48 at about 7:31 p.m.
-- On March 27 at 7:31 p.m., McCloskey is accused of stealing shredded mild cheddar cheese, valued at $1.97, and Italian bread, valued at $6.96. That same day, at 9:09 p.m., McCloskey allegedly took Doritos, valued at $3.97 and Airwick plug-in refills, valued at $9.98.
PFA violation
MILESBURG -- A 64-year-old Milesburg man was arrested for violating a Protection from Abuse (PFA) order on Sept. 10, state police at Rockview said.
Police investigated the violation in Boggs Township where it was found Rodney Thompson made contact with four victims, all of Bellefonte, police said.
Thompson was charged for the incident.
