Police look for suspect in hit and run with buggy
BEECH CREEK -- A crash occurred on SR 150 near 1306 Eagle Valley Road on Sept. 25 at approximately 9:45 p.m., when a horse and buggy, operated by Benuel G. Stoltzfus, 21, of Beech Creek, was traveling south and was struck in the rear, causing it to spin out of control, according to state police at Lamar.
While the buggy was spinning out of control, it struck a 2025 Chevrolet, driven by Franklin R. Bardo, 71, of Blanchard, causing minor damage before coming to a stop in a ditch upside down, police said.
The driver of the original vehicle, a white Ford truck, fled the scene with heavy passenger side damage in the direction of Beech Creek, prior to the arrival of emergency personnel, according to police.
Stoltzfus and his passenger, Linda Stoltzfus, 22, of Beech Creek, were transported to UPMC for suspected minor injuries, police said.
PSP Lamar was assisted on scene by PSP Rockview, Beech Creek Fire Company, station 9, Goodwill Ambulance and the Beech Creek Ambulance.

DUI
ANTES FORT -- On Aug. 24, at approximately 12:04 a.m., state police at Lamar observed a 2000 Subaru Legacy parked along the side of the roadway with parking violations in the area of 2800 block SR 44, police said.
Contact was made with the operator, Lucas Buffington, 33, of Cogan Station, who was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages, according to police.
Criminal charges were filed through District Judge Denise Dieter's office.
Drug possession
MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar responded to Central Mountain High School on Aug. 31, at approximately 9:55 a.m., for a report of drug possession, police said.
Through investigation, the 17-year-old Blanchard girl was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Fallen rocks cause accident
LOCK HAVEN -- A crash occurred in the area of 8332 Renovo Road in Grugan Township on Sept. 7 at approximately 10:27 a.m., when David L. Rickrode, 57, of Littlestown, Pa., was traveling East on the road when he encountered falling rocks from a roadside embankment, according to state police at Lamar.
Rickrode attempted an evasive maneuver before losing control of the 2018 Ford F-150 and striking a roadside embankment, police said.
Minor injuries were reported as a result of the accident and towing was provided by Martin Motors.
Found property
LOCK HAVEN -- State police at Lamar located a black G-Shock watch on US 220 North approximately one mile north of the Lock Haven exit on Sept. 19.

Simple trespassing
CASTANEA -- State police at Lamar responded to a location along West Brown Street on Sept. 9, at approximately 4:32 p.m., for a report of a possible trespassing.
Through investigation, it was determined the incident was a civil matter and no charges were filed as part of the incident, police said.
