SPRING MILLS -- State police at Rockview reported one fatality following a single vehicle accident on Sept. 8, at approximately 2:41 p.m., on Penns Valley Road near its intersection with Fiedler Road.
George Daulby, 83, of Coburn, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of blunt force trauma sustained in the accident following life saving measures, according to Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers.
Daulby, reportedly traveling west on Penns Valley Road, failed to maintain lane position and struck a ditch roadside with the undercarriage of his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado before continuing back onto the road, according to police.
The vehicle then struck a second culvert with the front end and became airborne before flipping end over end one time, landing on its wheels, police said.
Daulby was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to police.
State police at Rockview were assisted on scene by Kuppel's Auto Center, Millheim Fire Company, Penns Valley EMS, Pleasant Gap Fire Department and the Centre County Coroner.
