BELLEFONTE -- A 45-year-old Bellefonte woman was indicted on child pornagraphy related charges through the United States Attorney General's office.
Shannon M. Ishler was indicted by a federal grand jury this week for production of child pornography by any parent, legal guardian and person having custody or control of a minor and possession of child pornography, according to a release from the US Attorney General's Office's Middle District of Pennsylvania.
US Attorney Brian D. Miller said the indictment alleges Ishler, sometime between Jan. 1, 2024 and April 5, 2024, "engaged in the production of several images of child exploitation involving multiple toddlers in her care, which she distributed over the internet."
The AG's office further alleges Ishler possessed "visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct."
The FBI and Pennsylvania State Police investigated the case with Assistant US Attorney Luisa Honora Berti handling the prosecution.
The Express previously reported Ishler's arrest in September 2025 when she was a former head preschool teacher at a Bellefonte-area daycare.
At the time she was charged with felony counts of producing child sexual abuse material, sexual abuse of children, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility, along with a misdemeanor charge for production of obscene materials, after allegedly sharing nude photos of children in her care.
Court documents show Ishler had been jailed at the Centre County Correctional Facility with bail set at $15,000 by District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker in September 2025.
Since then, documents say she waived all of the charges for court on Sept. 25, 2025.
