DUI

JULIAN -- On Aug. 31, at approximately 11:43 p.m., a motor vehicle crash was investigated by PSP Rockview near the 3100 block of South Eagle Valley Road, Union Township.

One operator, John Kormanec, 45, of Renovo, was arrested for DUI, according to police.

Theft by deception

LAMAR -- On Aug. 24, at approximately 2:02 p.m., state police at Lamar were dispatched to an address along Nittany Valley Drive to investigate a report of theft.

The victim, a 62-year-old Lamar man, reported $1,600 missing from his bank account, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Stolen money

MILL HALL -- State police at Lamar responded to a location along Hogan Boulevard on Sept. 11, at approximately 1:52 p.m., for a report of theft.

According to police, a 71-year-old Mill Hall woman failed to retrieve $100 in cash back from a purchase at a self checkout register.

Upon leaving, two suspects retrieved the cash and failed to return it to the victim, police said.

DUI

PORT MATILDA -- State police at Rockview conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas on Sept. 6, at approximately 1:03 a.m., police said.

The operator, Ryan McKean, 34, of Graysville, Pa., was arrested for DUI, according to police.

Truck hits mini bike

AVIS -- On Sept. 9, at approximately 4:35 p.m., state police at Lamar were dispatched to the intersection of Cliff Street and Clinton Street in Avis Borough for a report of a pickup truck versus a mini bike with injuries, police said.

The crash occurred as a 17-year-old male driving a Coleman CT100u rode through a stop sign while traveling east on Clinton Street at the same time Brian W. Winter, 54, of Jersey Shore, driving a 2025 Ford F250 was traveling north on Cliff Street, according to police.

Winter struck the mini bike, causing the bike to fall onto its side and slide off the east side of Cliff Street where it came to a final rest, police said.

The operator of the mini bike sustained suspected serious bodily injury as a result of the crash and was flown to Geisinger in Danville via life flight, police said.

Neither Winter nor his passenger, Charissa A. Winter, 54, of Jersey Shore, were injured, police said.
