He did it before, He will do it again
What was done before; will be done again!
The actual scripture for this is Ecclesiastes 1:9
What has been will be again, and what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
In 1869, shortly after the Civil War, there was a Camp Meeting which was called the Wayne or West Branch Camp Meeting held in McElhattan and supported by the Methodist church.
Thousands would attend this large, organized gathering which showed “the manifested presence and power of God.” For 20 years people would come together at this location until a flood eliminated the structures and they were not rebuilt.
In the 1830s, approximately 30 years before this wonderful move of God, Charles Finney, a Presbyterian minister, was associated with the Second Great Awakening. His legacy was also one of many signs and wonders from God done in the western parts of New York state.
Two notable moves of God and two separate denominations, both producing much fruit for the Body of Christ and greatly affected the areas they were held in.
I share this history to give you hope and faith to pray for another awakening to God. In Malachi 3:6 it says, “I am the Lord, I change not. Like any good Father, He wants to see His children, healthy, wealthy and wise. He also wants to spend time with them.” (James 4:8)
I believe that God wants to show himself strong. (2 Chronicles 16:9)
God wants to draw us near to Him. (Luke 15:11-32)
We have many promises from our Father. Powerful promises that were given to us to experience and hold onto. Let us all look to and believe for now, another fulfillment of those promises to experience the presence and power of God. He did it before and He will do it again.
