VBS at Booneville Campground

LOGANTON -- Various churches from the Sugar Valley area will hold their Vacation Bible School, "Monumental-Celebrating God's Greatness," from Sunday, June 26 through Thursday, June 30 at the Booneville Campground.

The times are 6-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. for the remaining four days. All ages are welcome to attend and join in on the fun as we celebrate God's greatness.

Walk by Faith

LOCK HAVEN -- The next Walk By Faith scheduled walk is on June 8 at Riverview Park, Woodward Township. Meet at park.

You can walk at your own pace, get lots of fresh air and fellowship with one another while enjoying the beauty of God's creation. You do not need to register -- just show up on the scheduled dates and bring a friend!

Worship change

The churches in the Nittany Valley Charge UCC will change worship times. Beginning this Sunday, June 5, Emmanuel UCC at Jacksonville will worship at 9 a.m. and Mt. Bethel and Salona will worship at 10:30 a.m. Mt. Bethel/Salona continue to alternate Sunday services at each church. This scheduled time will continue until the first Sunday in June 2023.

Pastor Cindy Killinger and the congregations welcome all to join Sunday worship service.

Change in service times

FARRANDSVILLE -- The People's United Methodist Church of Farrandsville will be changing its service times beginning the first Sunday in July.

The service will be held at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. to allow Pastor Jack Hocker time to travel to another church where he is providing his services.

Avis Community Days

AVIS -- Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis, will hold a luncheon, soup, book and bake sale and free yard sale on Saturday, June 11 during Avis Community Days.

The menu for luncheon includes hot sausage sandwiches, hot dogs, kraut and chili dogs, ham and bean and vegetable soup (both bowls and quarts sold), and macaroni and cheese. The church will also have scrumptious baked good items available.

Quarts of soup can be sold for $6 on day of sale and pre-ordered by calling the church office 9 a.m. through 1:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Phone number to call is 570-753-8137. Quarts of soup need to be picked up by 1 p.m. day of sale.

The church will also be selling sausage sandwiches on Friday, June 10. If interested, you may call the office before June 3 to order these. Price is $4 each.

Vacation Bible School

WOOLRICH -- The Caldwell/Woolrich Charge of United Methodist Church will hold "Celebrating God's Greatness" Vacation Bible School from June 6 to June 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woolrich United Methodist Church, 1080 Park Ave., Woolrich.

VBS is for children ages 5 and up. Those who register on June 6 may arrive at 5:30 p.m. to do so.

Pulled pork dinner

LOGANTON -- The Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren will be having a drive-thru Pulled Pork Dinner on Saturday, June 11 from 4-6 p.m. at 2305 E. Winter Road in Loganton. Meals will include a pork sandwich, macaroni salad, baked beans, cole slaw and a monster cookie for dessert! Cost for the meal is by donation only and all profits will be sent to the Ukraine. All meals will be drive thru only -- no dining in.

Hymn sing

LAMAR -- Nittany Valley Fellowship will have a Spring Hymn Sing on June 5 at 7 p.m. at Walker Township Park. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy an evening of music.

VBS at Beech Creek Wesleyan

BEECH CREEK -- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will hold its Vacation Bible School -- Jesus the Rock -- on Sunday, June 5 through Thursday, June 9 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Children after three to teens are welcome. Registration will be permitted at VBS or at www.beechcreekwesleyan.org.

Rocky Railway VBS

MILL HALL -- Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church invites local kids to join for the Rocky Railway Vacation Bible School June 13 through June 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. nightly.

Church of Christ

LOCK HAVEN -- First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven, will hold its Vacation Bible School for ages 3 through fifth grade beginning June 5 to June 9 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The event is free and will include team building games, learn Bible songs and verses, snacks and more. Come join the fun and bring your friends.

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ will hold its Vacation Bible School, "Hayday" from Thursday, June 9 to Friday, June 10 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The program is open to children potty-trained up to fifth grade.

Free Picnic Thanking Moms and Dads

HOWARD -- Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard, will be holding a free picnic to thank Moms and Dads on Sunday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Participants may eat inside the church, outside or take home. The meal will consist of hamburgers, hot dogs, variety of salads, baked beans, chips, desserts, coffee or water.

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., will hold its Vacation Bible School, Hayday on Thursday and Friday, June 9-10 from 6-8:30 p.m. for grades potty-trained through 5th grade. For more information call the church office.

Free Flea

LOCK HAVEN -- St. Paul's Church, 112 E. Main St., Lock Haven will hold our Free Flea Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everything is free although donations are always accepted.

Youth Group

FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ's Youth Group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The program is offered for kids in grades Kindergarten through twelve.
