Christmas in July

MILL HALL — Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, will hold a Christmas in July service on July 10 beginning at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

The church is handicap accessible with plenty of parking in the rear of the church.

The church will be celebrating Christmas in July because Mary, the Lord’s mother, at that point in time was three months pregnant. She went to see her Aunt Elizabeth who was expecting also and the mothers-to-be were joyful months before their children’s arrival.

Those who would like to join in the celebration are asked to consider wearing Christmas colors. The sanctuary will be decorated and Christmas carols will be sung.

Fun fair

HOWARD — The Roger A. White Fun Fair and Silent Auction will be held at Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, 551 Hunter Run Road, Howard off Route 150 on Saturday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature a bounce house, games, food and baked goods. Nittany Greyhounds will be a special guest from 10 a.m. to noon followed by a Jello eating contest at 1 p.m. The silent auction bidding will end at 3 p.m.

Twenty five percent of the profits will be donated to Camp Victory in memory of Roger A. White.

Walk by Faith

McELHATTAN — The next “Walk by Faith” scheduled walk is on June 29 at 6 p.m. at the Bald Eagle Valley Trail in Castanea. Meet at the old train station or call Fran Decker at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084 if you wish to carpool or need further information.

You can walk at your own pace, get lots of fresh air and fellowship with one another while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. You do not need to register-just show up on the scheduled dates and bring a friend!

Worship change

The churches in the Nittany Valley Charge UCC has changed its worship times. Emmanuel UCC at Jacksonville will worship at 9 a.m. and Mt. Bethel and Salona will worship at 10:30 a.m. Mt. Bethel/Salona continue to alternate Sunday services at each church. This scheduled time will continue until the first Sunday in June 2023.

Pastor Cindy Killinger and the congregations welcome all to join Sunday worship service.

Change in service times

FARRANDSVILLE — The People’s United Methodist Church of Farrandsville will be changing its service times beginning the first Sunday in July.

The service will be held at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. to allow Pastor Jack Hocker time to travel to another church where he is providing his services.

Youth Group

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ’s Youth Group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The program is offered for kids in grades Kindergarten through 12.
