Church service
FLEMINGTON -- On Sunday, July 31, Flemington First Church of Christ will have its normal morning worship at 8:45 a.m. in the church sanctuary. There will also be a church service at 9:30 a.m. at the Clinton County fairgrounds.
Laurel Run UMC cookbooks
BEECH CREEK -- The Laurel Run United Methodist Church in Beech Creek is gathering recipes from friends, families and members of the church. The church would love for you to share your favorite recipe or recipes to be in its first ever cookbook.
Feel free to add short tidbits or stories you recall about the church. Maybe a favorite pastor or an event you attended. These will also be a part of the cookbook.
Please remember to include your name and phone number in case there are questions. Recipes and stories can be emailed to LRUMCINFO@gmail.com or mailed to the Laurel Run UMC, 2899 Laurel Run Road, Beech Creek, PA 16822.
If hand writing the recipe(s), please print. Call Paula at 814-359-3459 for any questions. Cookbooks will be ready for purchase just in time for Christmas.
Church-wide yardsale
BELLEFONTE -- Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 W. Howard St., Bellefonte, will hold a church-wide yardsale on Friday, Aug. 5 and Saturday, Aug. 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
All proceeds from the sale will benefit mission projects.
VBS at Hope River
JERSEY SHORE -- Hope River Church, 325 Thomas St., Jersey Shore, will hold its Vacation Bible School, "On the Case" from July 25 to 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Children preschool age to 6th grade will investigate a few of Jesus' parables to solve the mystery.
Avis UM to hold VBS
AVIS -- After a two year hiatus Avis United Methodist Church will again be having Vacation Bible School. This year's VBS is "ROAR…… Life is Wild – God is Good."
Registration is now open. Go to vbspro.events/p/601fde. Starting date is July 25 through July 29, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Closing ceremonies will be on Sunday, July 31 at 10:30 a.m. Any questions, please call the church office at 570-753-8137, Monday through Friday, 9a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vacation Bible School
OVAL -- Oval United Methodist Church, 6796 S. Route 44 Hwy., Jersey Shore, will host its Vacation Bible School on Sunday, July 24 through Thursday, July 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The program is for children ages 4 through seventh grade. This year's theme is "Joy to the World" where children will journey with Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem.
Ice cream social
LOGANTON -- The Nittany/Sugar Valley United Methodist Charge will hold its annual Ice Cream Social today at the Booneville Campground from 4-7 p.m.
Various flavors of homemade ice cream and different kinds of homemade pies will be available. Hot sausage sandwiches, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and drinks will also be available. Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the event.
Come and join members for an evening of fellowship, music, and great food!
Walk by Faith
LOCK HAVEN -- The next "Walk by Faith" scheduled walk is on July 27 at 6 p.m. at the Pine Creek Rail Trail. Meet at the parking lot in Jersey Shore or call Fran Decker at 570-748-4302 or 570-263-2084 if you wish to carpool or need further information.
You can walk at your own pace, get lots of fresh air and fellowship with one another while enjoying the beauty of God's creation. You do not need to register-just show up on the scheduled dates and bring a friend!
Youth Group
FLEMINGTON -- Flemington First Church of Christ's Youth Group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The program is typically offered for kids in grades Kindergarten through twelve. For the summer months it will be offered to those in grades 5 through 12.
