Walk by Faith

LOCK HAVEN — The Walk by Faith walking program will hold another event on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at Bald Eagle Valley Trail. Meet at the old train station in Castanea at 6 p.m.

You can walk at your own pace, get lots of fresh air and fellowship with one another while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. You do not need to register — just show up on the scheduled date and bring a friend!

Community Picnic

BOONEVILLE — The Sugar Valley churches are hosting the 105th annual Community Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Booneville Campground.

The morning talent show will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch at noon. Special entertainment will be provided by the Penn’s Valley Men’s Choir at 1:30 p.m.

Children’s games and bingo will be held in the afternoon, and there will be a chicken BBQ at 5 p.m. The Sugar Valley Community Band will provide entertainment from 6:30-8 p.m. Food and drink stands will be available throughout the day.

Youth Group

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ’s Youth Group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The program is typically offered for kids in grades 5 through 12. On Aug. 25, the group will welcome back kids from grades 1 through 4.

Blood Drive

FLEMINGTON — St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Aug. 30 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall. They are honored to be able to provide an opportunity for donors to participate in this blood drive. The American Red Cross is facing a critical blood shortage. Their donors will be able to help many patients who are in dire need of blood and blood products. To schedule an appointment for the St. Luke’s drive go online to register at www.redcross.org and select Give Blood.

Coffee club

FLEMINGTON — Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., holds Coffee Club every Thursday from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Cyber Security Awareness

FLEMINGTON — Learn how to protect yourself and your information. Two convenient sessions are available, Sunday, Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m., or Sunday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Flemington First Church of Christ.

Anyone is welcome to attend one or both sessions. Bring your family and friends and help them learn how to protect their information. You are encouraged to bring along your cell phone and any other electronic devices that you use.
